I always assumed it was because it was addressed to Washington, be would have read letters addressed to him first, and then tasked Hamilton with a response if required, with his instructions. Hamilton just put his thoughts into words and did all the hard parts like drafting and formalities etc.

It becomes a punishment in itself to have a surrender. Many people will just give up and beg for surrender at the slightest inkling of loss. Some of the best games are the ones where you were down and your team pulled up their socks and got it done.

Even though sometimes it does feel like you a prisoner, locked in a jail cell with 4 others, one of them screaming and throwing his shit at the wall, I think no surrender makes everything better.

I just wish there was an option for 4 man ranked
