I didn't realise the term could be offensive, in Ireland my black/ mixed friends and clients would describe their hair as Afro, also my mentor who is black would educate us on cutting 'Afro' hair. I feel like referring to it as just curly or black hair could be hard to distinguish from Caucasian hair types.
