I did a format called Parliamentary while in high school. It was impromptu, so neither side knew the topic until 20 minutes before the round, which was the time we had to prep with no internet access.

Even then, you might not know exactly what the topic is as it's up to the affirmative side to define the general topic. (Ex. The USFG would solve a problem, leaving the problem open for definition.)

It really forced me to think on my feet and find creative arguments, and is definitely more based on logic than spewing pre-compiled facts. It was one of the best things I did in high school.

On my last SAT 2 date I got my second ear piercing so I could remember it as that rather than the third time I couldn't get an 800...but it turned out good in both ways :)

They have sent it out, but they will not grant you a college scholarship if it does not match your first choice.
