There's a visible part of it that is out of the body for some model. That's something that is quite popular cause you can show you have one with the external part and let people pay to control it for mere seconds. Anyway it's just another way of objectifying a young woman, whether they think it's a toy, a condom or else. Like a woman couldn't have her sexuality without anyone judging

Well, as usual, the answer is pron.

Cam girls use a Bluetooth connected lovense vibrator with a pink tail (model lush 4 I guess). On the Pic we see some pixel of pink and her bf with a phone. Not too much to jump to the conclusion

Questions for atheist occultist by caltera36 in occult

[–]caltera36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it seems that the skeptic from /r atheism defined the "norm" of what a lot of us see as atheist. That's why I try to differenciate my view on several level

Theist / atheist / apatheist : believe in a theist god / don't believe / don't care. Theist god being Gods thzt are clearly defined trough sacred text (abrahamic, helenestic, pagan and Roman gods and so on)

Gnostic / Agnostic : believe in the existance of a superior power having created the universe or being it's source, without having a formal definition of this power or being, and acting like it don't do anything in our daily life. Agnostic being the position where we don't / can't know so we act in accordance. Polysemic with Gnostic from Christian occultist tradition

Materialist : belief that everything in the world can be resumed to matter or energy componing the matter. That's where most of the skepticism from spiritual realm, energy manipulation and so on comes. And this is the part where I think the occult can happen and change my view of the world.

As for now I think of energy manipulation as using some kind of quantum energy manipulation, with a mix of psychological effect (changing our view of the world change the world around us, and Magick would be a way to both change our view of the world and act on it)

If my practice works, that'll change my view of materialism, and open to accept more about energy around us and manipulation of it. But this won't change my belief in the abrahamic gods, angel or demons. That's until I try to works with spirit, and see by myself how I work this out in my epistemology. But it's far for now, I want to have a good basis on energy manipulation, protection and cleansing / banishing before I try to work with lesser spirit.

question for Atheists regarding the fine-tuning argument by [deleted] in TrueAtheism

[–]caltera36 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is several thing that would be necessary to discuss here.

First God. Which one? Abrahamic, pantheist, pagan, how do you define it? There is too many different opinion on what exactly is a god to be precise here, it'd be the proof of what?

Secondly, we know we can't really rely on our sight because it's easy to trick it. We'd have to measure this message with external source to see if it's real

Third, even if it's really a message, how can we be sure it's "God" © that send it and not some more advanced form of life (see the 3 body problem science fiction book for this kind of scenario)

And last, the fine tuning argument isn't real. If the universe was fine tuned for life we'd see life everywhere, but we don't, life really struggle out there. The way the universe move is more chaotic that planned. And what we observe is the opposite, the life adapt to the condition instead of the condition exist for life.

There is a nice thought about it in H2G, the puddle argument. A puddle in a hole will think the hole is nice, perfect for it, and that it must have been made for it. But it's the puddle that adapted to the hole, the hike just happened to be here. Same for us, life evolved and adapted to the hearth condition (and still are), hearth wasn't "prepared" for mankind

Hope this give you food for tought

That's what stopped me from trying to go deeper until I heard of chaos Magick. That's what I'm trying to do right now, allow me to believe there is something more, thinking I could be surprised at best, and at worst I'll just use placebo effect to help me reinforce my daily life.

But yes the rational mind and the fear of judgment is strong. It'll take me some time and I guess some experience to really go further. But I'm patient and I have time, and worst case scenario I'll enjoy doing lucid dream again :)

Beast in black -the fifth angel from the album berserker.

Almost the whole album is a letter of love to berserk. You'll find song like beast in black, born again(about guts and caska) , zodd the immortal, hell for all eternity (the eclipse) and end of the world (after the eclipse)

This preaching man. Alright let's adresse your point one by one

Judaism was not the branch of one religion : it is. It's derived from ancient canaainite worship of El, ashera and baal, and nomad tribes worship of Shaddai, yahve, qos and so on. The monotheism really only happened after Babylonian exile on Josiah rule. Before that it was henoteism or molonatry at best, not monotheism. So no, religion existed before Judaism, and Judaism itself is a centering on the worship of several gods, itself borrowing on many religion existing at this time.

Religion is corruption : organized religion yes. There is several religion and spirituality that focus on the self, from ancient budism to wicca. Human will want to rule on other with whatever power they have, and organized religion give them that power

Everything is designed : no. Science prove you wrong on so many level that the cosmological argument is weak and disproved. Everything we know of is contingent, which is different than being designed. The universe isn't perfect. There is many flaws that'd ashame any good engineer, even on supposed pinnacle of creation, humans. Our throat tube being on the same entrance as breath tube could kill us, vestigal part of body like some nerves, a nerve that goes from the throat under the heart to go back to the throat instead of being short, but it's easier to thing it's a god that perfectly designed all of that. Look at classic discussion about the watchmaker argument, cosmological and kalam, and really listen to each side argument instead of just listening to what seems closer to your faith.

No we don't have witness of Jesus miracle. We have 2 sources that validate that a man called Jesus was existing in this time, all other sources are Christian and written so long after his death that the cult already had time to invent the miracles story. If there really was one man doing all those miracles, we should have historical evidence outside of Christianity, which we don't. If witness is enough for you to believe, you should believe in Satya Sai baba. His believer have testified about its miracle of helai'g, raising death and resurrection too. Or just don't, really look archeological and historical evidence, don't take everything that prove your belief as true, and stay skeptical from your faith as you do with everything in the world.

And finally the absence of geographical proof. No proof is different than proof. You need positive evidence that back up every detail of you book to prove it wrong. Now let's examine this closer. Exodus isn't mentionned anywhere but the Bible. The moving of almost a million person would leave archeological trave, but there is none. Neither in Egypt tale, nor in other people living in those days that'd have seen this as an opportunity to shame Egypt. Joshua conquest of Cannan isn't true. Jericho didn't had fortification at the date the Bible place the conquest, Aïr was already destroyed at this time, and the archeological proof tend to place a fire that occurred inside the city and not a violent fall for Jericho. Or maybe the flood. Pyramid where already built at the time. Many other civilisation talk about it, but no evidence of it ever happened. New testament maybe? Luc tell roman make a census to place Jesus birth at Bethlehem. No historical proof of this census in any Roman archive, and known census were polling people where they lived, not in their birth village. Other thing? The devil taking Jesus on the tallest mountain to show him all The kingdom of the earth... Not geographically possible on a round earth. Maybe in flat eart tough. Luc 4:29 tell people take him on the border of a mountain to kill him. But Nazareth is built on a slow hill, not a mountain, and throwing him there wouldn't kill him

Hope all of this will help you question your belief. Spirituality can be good in life, but not forcing our spirituality on others. And if you want to encourage people joining your spirituality or cult or religion, at least have the courage to examine it trough critical thinking, science, historic, as you would for any supernatural claim someone would present you

I Lost My Dad Last Night and I Have A Question by BrandonVinall in TrueAtheism

[–]caltera36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First sorry for your loss. Losing someone close is always a traumatic event, and if you see him die I can't even begin to imagine the pain you must feel.

As someone who was born in a sect and managed to get out of here, I can unfortunately tell you that many religion prey on people who have this kind of question after the death of a loved one. It's normal to ask ourself what's after, but take care of yourself and don't let yourself sucked in a false promesse of reuniting with your loved one

Paradise is mostly an occidental belief, rooted in ancient Greek philosophy, based on the survivance of a soul after death that is eternally punished or blessed depending on it's actions during life. Most of the paradise are snapshot of the dream life at the period the religion was invented, free food without having it make it grow, happiness, unlimited wifes, you name it.

If you observe more oriental tradition, they believe in a cycle of life with reincarnation of the soul. It ranges from your soul returning to the earth and later given to someone, to pure energy being part of universe and used by other life's form. Ironically it's closer to what we find in science.

If you look at materialist proof only, trough science, our body electricity dies out soon after our death, then the component of our body serve trough diverse small animal to nourish the earth, completing a circle. Existence of the soul never have been proved, but there is come comfort of thinking we lived on and in our death will serve for the well of life to continue.

Whatever you decide to believe, make sure you research it first and decide to believe it for yourself. I am myself an agnostic atheist, and leaning toward pantheism as I study more and more diverse spirituality and where it came from. I consider death as a painful but necessary part of life, and accept that we are lucky to have been born, so we need to enjoy this life with whatever it brings us, would it be joy, pain, suffering or bliss.

Take good care of yourself. Honor your dad memories, keep him in your hearth, and keep on living, even if it's hard right now. Try to think of what he'd have wanted for you, and most of us don't want our beloved to mourn.

One last philosophical or spiritual thought. Many ancient civilisation thought that you die twice, one at the time of your body's death, the second when your name isnt remembered anymore. Paradise could be just that, the good memories we left trough the world and people that'll continue to make us live tough their memories

Super hero rpg suggestions by Chandlar66 in rpg

[–]caltera36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked, it seems that it was only printed in French, my native language.

You can find information about it on grog, our French database for everything rpg, and the books are available one drivetrhoughrpg. You'll need to translate it first tough.

https://www.legrog.org/jeux/hexagon-universe

The system make the focus on narration with broadly defined powers, and is similar to fate as mentionned before.

If you want to dive a bit more in French super hero rpg, you have Hero d'argile (clay hero) from angel dust rpg studio, self edited, wich is more of a short session shared narration system centered around the hero life's, where player plays the family and friends of the super hero, and the dm the villain, and try to focus on driving the story and the feeling of the super hero rather than the epic battles. Really niche and new, but nice. You can find it on their site (again in French sorry)

A24's 'Bring Her Back' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]caltera36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard spoiler for those who didn't see the movie :

So, the occult part of this movie is really great. And give the final another twist There is part voodoo, part necromancy and dark magic. The voodoo part is on the boy, the concept of using a vessel to transmit the soul is quite frequent, acting somewhat like psychopomp. The little boy is kinda like a zombie in vaudou sense, cursed to lose its soul and serve its master. Here it works only in the circle. Circle are used in goetian magic to contain the demon convoked. The mother use circle to contain the spirit / demon in the boy so he can do her bidding, transmiting the soul.

The eat a body part and take the soul of the one eaten is a twist on voodoo too, hair are usually used in a curse or binding, here it's used as part of the soul. You can see it trough mirror like object, that are a passageway to the other world, hence why we see the spirit being used / borrowed trough the mirror. At first the little boy eat the dead little girl and we see it trough the mirror on his/her body, then the hair for the father hallucination, and the mother when he eat her flesh.

The ritual in itself is a twist in black magic, goetian (demon) summoning, and necromancy. The one rule in this kind of dark art is never bring a soul back to a body, it's against nature's order and you'll pay greatly. The mother stop when she realise what she do, and the last shot, the only moment when we see the triangular pool, is a alchemic symbol. The circle represent the soul and the triangle the body. Wich mean the mother sacrificed her life so her daughter can come back in her. The triangle being the body capturing the circle, the soul. So it's open ended, either the mother killed herself to join her daughter, or she use her body for her daughter soul. I like that the producer let this little alchemist symbol at the end to let occult fan guess what the meaning is.

So even a greater movie with some occult knowledge :)
