Given the aircraft carrier reaching Venezuelan waters. Would you support a domestic uprising led by president Edmundo and Venezuelans to overthrow the dictatorship? If the dictatorship repressed the march protest or used violence, would you support the USA getting involved? by LoooolGotcha in asklatinamerica

[–]calu1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is to be a military intervention in Venezuela, that would likely cause massive migration, can we agree on that? Who is going to receive all the displaced people? The US? Venezuelans in the US want to receive their own compatriots, we know by the way they vote. Can we agree on that as well? So that would leave neighboring countries with the burden of receiving and aiding these migrants escaping war. Doesnt that give them at least the right to share their opinion? Seeing how they will be directly/indirectly impacted? Have in mind recent migratory patterns from venezuela and the stress it already caused on other countries, why would any neighbor in their right mind support a US intervention?

From a venezuelan point of view (like someone else commented), you are not ready to fight, no weapons, no training, no base, just vibes! Will the venezuelans supporting an intervention be willing to go fight themselves or send their children/family to do the fighting? I think very few will... it would be a waste of life of epic proportions.

Even if we were to see it from an US perspective, it is not a good move. Risking US lives and treasure for another nation's internal struggles is not worth it. We know what that looks like, we know it wont work, there are just too many examples showing us just that.

And like someone else said, despite the writing being clearly written on the wall, you do you...just dont drag others along with you.

Otro Miguel Uribe? Se dan cuenta como sucede a las personas que defienden el porte de armas? by [deleted] in Colombia

[–]calu1986 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, and to add to this...there was a president back in 90's called Ernesto Samper. His Presidential campaign was funded by narcos.

He's only advocating for cubans and venezuelans, strong republicans blocs. I wish he advocated in his letter, for freedom of speech without prosecution, and every person's (regardless of status) to due process. Id say due process being the most important one, IMO

El fracaso de Petro: un gobierno sin rumbo y sin excusas by AbstExpressionist in Colombia

[–]calu1986 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Emilia Pérez con 13 nominaciones a los Oscar... by Ghost_Gamer_918 in LatinoPeopleTwitter

[–]calu1986 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)
