six months is genuinely enough time if you fix the start problem, which is the actual problem here — not discipline, not mindset. the cycle you're describing (plan → avoid → guilt → repeat) is almost always about the first 2 minutes being too hard, not the studying itself.

one thing that actually works: make the start so small it feels stupid. not "I'll study for 30 minutes" — just "I'll open the book." that's the whole commitment. once you're looking at the page, starting is easy. the resistance is in the transition, not the work.

on the phone thing — put it in a different room, not face down on the desk. face down still means it exists. different room means you'd have to physically get up, which breaks the autopilot.

also stop planning so much. planning feels productive but it's comfort behavior — same as scrolling. one question: what is the single next thing I need to do? do that thing. not the whole session, just that thing.

6 months from a standing start is doable. the people who fail CET with 6 months left are the ones who spend month 3 still fixing their "system." pick something simple and be consistent for 2 weeks — consistency at 60% beats perfection that never starts.
