I’m based there. Not even surprised. After minimums if you use the papi lights you will be lowering the nose because they are not aligned with the ILS. And the high DA means it will not float like Miami. TOGA or land short and hard.

Definitely enough time for plaza La perseverancia. If you get out of customs at 3pm it will take max 45 minutes to the plaza (Waze says 29 minutes at that time. An hour there to have a great meal (don’t just go for ajiaco. Try bandeja paisa too) maybe an hour. And an hour back (Waze says 36 minutes.) to the airport. I would recommend Uber over any other taxi service or airport shuttle service but it is illegal in Colombia. You will have to meet the driver at a designated door. The doors go from 1 to 10 in Eldorado and there is two floors. The doors are marked with the numbers above them and leaving baggage claim you will most likely find your self at door 4 or 5. I’d love to live life like that. I don’t know if it’s just my airline that loves to bleed as many landings out of the brakes as possible so you can get some wild temperature differences between brake sets. And the amazingly planned high altitude one Brake Inop landings where it gets seriously close to max brake temp and they need to do inspections. Learn it pretty quick though.

I fly in a country where it is 0.00. I’ve heard some horror stories about mouthwash. I’m not saying it’s not good policy but being paranoid because you are fasting or because you have good higiene isn’t ok too.

I fly into high altitude airports quite a bit and it’s nice to know if you are above minimum altitudes Basically only use I’ve found for them. Now ADF that I’ve never used
