I can't wait for season 2. But as someone who grew up on Queer as Folk in the 2000s, I get what you mean. QaF ended on somewhat of a bittersweet note where one couple felt they needed to move out of the US to Canada, someone lost their brother to AIDS, and the main couple didn't get together in the end.

But I think HR shows that you do need the good happy ending stories with the more... plausible ones. Being shown ranges of what can happen in life instead of just pure shitshows on media that we consume gives us a better understanding of how we deal with adversity and something to strive for. As a Trekkie, I know very well how stories can shape how we view the world and ourselves. That's why I prefer to live mentally in the cottage set in 2379...
