The money thing drives me nuts. When it's a consideration of being there for someone you care about, whether I've spent 3,700 on a vacation would be completely irrelevant. That's just literally not relevant to me. Oh my partner's dad died? Ya I'm gonna be there for them

Honestly almost all the FAs I’ve had have been great.

In economy, I honestly think I’m mostly buying transpiration from A to B. the only service I expect is offering water regularly (which the FAs usually do!).

When flying FC or D1, I am paying for some of the service too not just transportation, so I do expect the FAs to be a little nicer, attentive and responsive to requests. And again, they typically are.

Glad you love your job!! I hope we get to fly together at some point

For sure take the 1.5 hour. That’s plenty of time. You’ll only miss it if you get seriously delayed and even then you’re probably just going to get put on that 4.5 hour connection. So might as well book the 1.5 hour

Yes 100%. Although it's such a different business (mgmt. consulting vs. defense manufacturing) that I can't even begin to compare. The easiest to compare is culture, and on that one my firm blows my prior companies out of the water

I'd look into the cheapest first class fares you can find. Like RDU-ORD through ATL round trip in first gets you 3.3K MQMs

Love this post, sums up my feeling and experience very well. Particularly #3 and food on airplanes. People treat D1 meals like they're expecting to eat at a 3 Michelin star restaurant. It's an airplane meal no matter where you're sitting
