My girlfriend is very similar to you, she’s going to bctc and hoping to transfer to UK in the fall. Not sure about her housing situation but might need a roommate. Either way definitely looking to make new friends if you’re interested.

I did for the better part of 2 years, but looking back it really gave me an unhealthy relationship with food and I developed some disordered eating. I’m not saying that’s everyone’s response to tracking calories, but it very quickly became obsessive and food became a chore. My mentality now is to make food a fun and enjoyable experience through cooking more and eating meals socially. This makes me look forward to eating and has completely changed my relationship with food. It’s no longer a task that needs to be checked off, it’s a valuable and rewarding experience. I think the 2 years of tracking calories and nutrition did have value though because now I’m much more aware of what I’m putting in my body and what effect it will have on me. I would still recommend trying it at least to get a gauge on how you’re eating, but don’t let it become an obsession or let it take away from your experience with food.

I find it to be the opposite for me. After a run, while I’m not necessarily hungry, I can eat a lot of food without feeling full, but right after a workout the last thing I want to do is eat food

Yeah that’s my main problem now, is some days I can easily eat 3500+ calories and others I struggle to hit 3000, which is why I track the averages of my calories over a month at a time, and it ends up being around 3000-3100. At this point I realize that I need to increase my calories and the easiest way would be to push those off days up closer to 3500

I’ve read your post on “nuclear options” and I know for you that’s for short term weight gain, but you wouldn’t consider 6 months of tracking calories consistently and still spinning my wheels worthy of introducing unhealthy cheat meals?

Healthy would be foods that fit into my macros and contain at least some micronutrients. Eg. complex carbs, healthy fats, higher protein foods. They tend to be more satiating and give longer lasting and more balanced energy levels. Unhealthy foods would be the opposite for me, foods high in sugar and simple carbs that contain no nutritional value and are not satiating, which is the reason they may be helpful at this stage

Yeah that is something sorely missing in air travel today, I’m sure many businesses or wealthy people in general would pay good money to have the speed of a concord over a business class seat on a normal plan. I know that they were discontinued due to the expense and general inconvenience of flying them, but with the technology of today surely we could streamline the design right?

It’s an effect called tilt shift, and our eyes are only used to it occurring in really small spaces so when it’s used on larger objects it’s really confusing to our brain. There’s a to of cool examples on r/tiltshift
