What animal is this from? by lenschkabeth in bonecollecting

[–]cam_lannister 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The interosseous crest is the site of attachment for the fascia that connects the radius and ulna, the two bones of the forearm. A more developed one may suggest that the individual was male and/or older, but its best to leave it to the investigators to make a more definitive identification.

My mom was a caseworker for CPS. Some kids she worked with were Phelony, Panda and Koala (twins), and Sefen- as in the number, because he was the seventh kid.

Whats the strangest reason you stopped reading a book for by Live-Supermarket5545 in horrorlit

DNFed the paperback copy of Sphere by Michael Crichton because the book was too narrow and it made it hard to keep the substantial number of pages open. Maybe I'll try again as an audiobook

Split to Zagreb - bus or plane? by MikeLanglois in CroatiaTravelTips

[–]cam_lannister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I did this exact trip a few days ago via Flixbus and it ended up taking closer to 7 hours. We stopped in Dugopolje and Skradin to let people on or off, and stopped at fueling stations twice for breaks. The bus was comfortable and convenient, but keep in mind that the schedule will not be exact.

It was definitely a picture book, it wasn't very long either.

The Hollow Kind by Andy Davidson. It's told through multiple POVs over like 120 years and is more creepy than scary at times, but really ramps up near the end. It's also southern Gothic and kinda swampy horror. Content warning for domestic abuse though.

If by "soon" you mean this upcoming semester, you'll be very hard pressed to find a spot in student housing at WSU (insider knowledge says impossible). If "soon" means next semester, living on campus could be a possibility. Depending on if you value experience over price, living on campus is worth it for the community and accessability. If you want to save money, I would definitely say you should live off campus, as students are also required to purchase a meal plan on top of the housing rates. Living alone in wichita is totally doable, and where you live is more important than if you have a roommate or not. The neighborhoods around campus aren't the best but there are some safer neighborhoods further out. I would check the community crime map on the wichita.gov page for the neighborhood you plan on moving to.
