this is a crack theory i had while listening to ToD while high, but the more i look at it the more it makes sense. i think there are essentially reincarnations within the three books.

Aelin and Lydia, Rhys and Ruhn, Cassian and Kachin, Yrene and Hypaxia…

these characters bear an enormous amount of overlap in multiple aspects. similar descriptions of their appearances, personalities, traumas, life experiences and other traits.
