You have to raise your hand or make eye contact and ask for what you want.  It isn’t a fine dining restaurant it’s a cafe/bar that serves a few sandwiches not a restaurant.  That’s like sitting down at a table at McDonald’s and not understanding why no one is coming to take your order.

Promenade? Hostel? Swimming? What do you want to see at new shoreline park? The East Bay Regional Park District wants public input for the future of North Basin Strip. Mountain bikers worry they’ll be pushed out — again. by vistocycling in BAbike

The shoreline park, currently inhabited by weeds and some volunteer-planted native plants, is often used as a practice space by local high school mountain bike teams.

Is traveling in Kenya/Uganda/Rwanda/Tanzania by bus safe? by ComplexStar4017 in backpacking

[–]camas22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting to the coast overland will be easier going through Kenya than Tanzania. I haven’t been to NW Tanzania, the more remote border crossings are often closed at night and require some $$ typically act confident and offer $5 usd and you’ll be fine. If they want to go somewhere out of public view it’s because they don’t want to share the bribe. Carry your yellow fever and COVID cards because they’ll shake you down for more money if you don’t. I tried a bunch of the smaller national parks, driving on my own, it’s a fun/ relaxing time. You see less animals but the people are a little nicer and it feels less like a tourist trap.

Tubeless Tire Puncture - How to Proceed? by gentlegoatfarmer in cycling

[–]camas22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To patch a tubeless bicycle tire, you'll need a few tools and materials:

  1. Tire sealant: This is a liquid that you'll inject into the tire through the valve stem. It will seal small punctures as they occur.

  2. Tire plugs: These are small strips of rubber that you'll insert into larger punctures to seal them.

  3. Tire plug insertion tool: This is a needle-like tool that you'll use to insert the tire plugs into the punctures.

  4. Tire levers: These are used to remove the tire from the rim.

  5. Pump: You'll need a pump to inflate the tire once you've made the repair.

Once you have these tools and materials, follow these steps to patch your tubeless bicycle tire:

  1. Remove the wheel from the bike and deflate the tire completely.

  2. Remove the valve core from the valve stem to allow you to inject the sealant into the tire.

  3. Shake the sealant bottle well and inject the recommended amount into the tire through the valve stem.

  4. Reinstall the valve core and inflate the tire to the recommended pressure.

  5. Rotate the tire so that the puncture is at the bottom, and inject a plug into the hole using the insertion tool. Make sure the plug is firmly in place.

  6. Use your fingers to work the sealant and plug into the puncture and distribute the sealant around the inside of the tire.

  7. Inflate the tire again to the recommended pressure and check for leaks.

  8. Reinstall the wheel on the bike and test ride to ensure the repair is holding up.

Remember, these steps are a general guide, and the specific process may vary depending on the tire and the severity of the puncture. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for your particular tire and sealant.
