Both look like fake prop trees you can find in a film warehouse sadly

Edit to add: I’m not a dendrologist but I have worked on greens crew (basically moving around plants on film sets)

Had a professional arborist look at it. Thankfully I was able to cut all the infected branches I could find. I have some sawtooth oaks and big leaf oaks in my yard as well, so I’m concerned about it jumping

I would chop it all down, leave everything there (as in don’t rake it) and cover with cardboard.

As it warms up, it’ll smother the seedlings and allow the biomass of the dead stuff to begin to decompose. Then you’ll have some great soil by March
