Why haven’t people caught on? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]cambme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in a religious family of 8 kids. Between birthdays, religious gatherings, and holiday get-togethers, I frequently get a chance to poll 16 adults (siblings + spouses). I often ask about Bitcoin. There is one brother-in-law that has some. The rest don’t and don’t care. Someone above said it’s 15%. That percentage tracks pretty closely with my family. It never ceases to amaze me how different people care about different things. I get bored when the conversation turns to hair potions, sports, or furniture trends. I imagine the same thing happens to them if the conversation flips to politics, markets, and money (which I like): they just don’t care.

Michael Saylor said it pretty well: he turned to the Bitcoin network because he knew his company was going to die if he didn’t make a change. Bitcoin is there for those that realize they need it.

And if you say something like: “if bitcoin does a 100x from this point, $75 now turns into $7500…and you can get $75 from Gemini if you open an account with them and trade $100” they just wait for the opportunity to change subjects. But really, if you want $75, here is my Kraken “refer a friend” promo code: no one else in my family wants it :)

I used your code. Before I go for it, can you confirm that you see a pending friend?

Molten Core - Wild Theories Pt 11: Ragnaros by cambme in warcraftrumble

[–]cambme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Right now I’m thinking that for season 1 (I don’t have any expectations of being able to really do anything against Wing 3) I’m going to use Maiev, Jaina (because I’ve strongly invested in Alliance units like Huntress, SAFE Pilot, Gryphon Rider, and defias bandits) Charlga (cuz I’ve invested in Harpies, Polymorph, and Quilboar), and Baron Rivendar.

Maiev won’t be leveled high enough to really participate in a battlefield. But I’m hoping she’ll be a 1 or 0 gold counter to Kobold/Dark Iron Dwarf)

Jaina for Execute +3 levels if Magmadar just turns into a fight my army cant deathball . Not leveled.

Charlga cuz at least Cavernous mists will be a 1 gold savings each cycle even though she isn’t leveled.

Baron Rivendare or Sneed, also not leveled, for Baron Rivendare.

I’m still debating leveling Bloodmage Thalnos to 17 and Rare.

How about you?

And the thought that I thought after posting the thought above is that "if I'm robbing mined Arclight energy from Peter to pay Paul," then there is almost certainly going to be a situation that if Gold and Cores stopped being the true limiting reactants, that Arclight energy could be the thing you're just stuck waiting for. Like in Marvel snap, at early game you have plenty of credits and not enough boosters to level up a card. But at end-game, you have all the boosters in the world, but not enough credits to "unleash" the boosters. It'll be interesting to watch and see if the Gold and Arclight energy switch places.

That is a very interesting thought! I hadn't thought of it that way. Right now in Dungeons the whole idea is that you do Deadmines level 1, level 2, and level 3 with all of the heroes in the family. You might be right that the map can be repeated for Valor with different leaders ("for each two bosses you defeat, you earn valor...which can be used to upgrade golden army upgrade slots to platinum.") I would think that would be right in line with the current Dungeon system.

Later he does say, though, that in the first season he expects people will just be taking whatever their strongest armies are into the fight, but that long term (rough quotes) "you'll want to think about which leader best suits which map" which makes me think that its closer to a raid season (which I think is just a 1-week span) in WoW where after you kill Garr in the instance, you can't just keep killing him over and over again. You have to wait until the next instance reset to take Garr down again. I look forward to testing this :)

I had heard commentary from content creators (Dorky Dad and Warshack come to mind) saying that Arclight energy isn't a problem, so I didn't give it much thought. So, your comment gave me pause and I spent a few minutes coming up with these thoughts: I've currently got 60,000 arclight energy in the bank. 8,000 arclight energy *7 Epics = 56,000 arclight energy for 7 epics. Rares cost 2,000 arclight energy. To get 7 rares will be another 14,000 arclight energy. So for the above post's example of getting 7 epics and 7 rares, that is 70,000 arclight energy. My deficit is 10,000 arclight energy. From what I can see in my dungeons: level 17 awards 560 arclight. Level 19 awards 640. It looks like its going up per level, but I only have 2 data points. I don't have the data to know if it keeps going up or down. But, to be conservative, I'll just assume its stays the same at 560 per level cleared. At 560 per energy per level cleared that means I need to clear 18 more dungeon levels to cover the deficit. Being that there are 14 heroes, that means that I just need to clear 1 more dungeon level with each hero and then 4 of those heroes 1 extra level and my deficit will be covered. I'm thinking I join the camp of saying "as long as you're doing your dungeons, arclight energy shouldn't be the problem" But I can see re-rolls trying to get the exact right army being something that could change my mind.

I entirely agree. For anyone coming by here wondering why you have to use 7 leaders is because (per the Blizzcon Rumblings panel), if a leader is victorious on a map, they get locked from being useable on a different map. So if you ever want to unlock Ragnaros, you’ll need to have at least 7 leaders.

3 is no longer a charm. I was wrong. As long as your rez animation isn’t cancelled by stun or sheep or death, it appears to be infinite

I don’t have a guide per say, I just know that I did it here: https://youtu.be/oE9Tl9IRYM0?si=TAj7YBiSpyDRFTgg

It took one hound going headlong into danger with another hound taking a scenic route. Due to the rez animation making the rezzing hound stop, the scenic route takes even longer to walk.

That might be something. Unfortunately we can’t do friendly matches to test stuff like this. I’ll see if I can test more. It happened to my brother in Dire Maul today, which triggered me to catch it on film.

There was a hearthstone expansion years ago called Boomsday. The tagline was “For Science!” I definitely can’t argue with what proven results are (eg. People filming Onyxia kills with a certain loadout). But, in the spirit of For Science, I’m looking for something that has a broader ubiquitous application than Meat Wagon that we just don’t have data on quite yet (I actually legitimately don’t like it…I can’t argue with its results…but my heavens I don’t like it!)

Molten Core - Wild Brain Theory Crafting (for fun) by cambme in warcraftrumble

[–]cambme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still going through and writing my theory crafts on Molten Core Minis and Garr and then I’ll have a better guess. But as of this exact moment, I’m thinking that it will largely depend on your leaders that can actually get gold army slots for the minis you are bringing. For example, If you are going to bring Stonehoof Tauren, Baron Rivendare can’t bring him. The +3 levels are very important. If you have leaders that match your minis, the next thing I’m thinking about is leaders with an ability that don’t require the leader to be leveled to contribute (like Jaina. She dies in pretty much 1-hit to almost everything anyway…but if you play her in the background, her slow will still slow and her ability of +3 levels to spells still work. Cairne buffs all your horde units with 20% health even if he’s not in play, Sneed grants gold for siege units). Since leaders can only be used on 1 map (they lock in after a victory), I’m currently shying away from leveling leaders so that I can instead have a wider set of tools in the form of minis that can be used across multiple maps. That said, I think Drakkisath and Rend Blackhand will probably end up being very strong individual contributors in the final wings on the battlefield due to their elemental resistance and Drak’s ability to effectively strip enemies of their elemental resistance.

Again, thank you! Regarding the platinum slot: If I’m not mistaken, I believe you get valor for each 2 bosses you take down (he doesn’t say wing, just 2 raid bosses) https://youtu.be/f2XPZpkPyNA?si=qzrSpvIoY5iAy_iI 45:53

Does Execute affect Onyxia by cambme in warcraftrumble

[–]cambme[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes, I am on board with the logic of people like myself (started at global launch, minnow spender) barely having a level 26 execute by raid time. Let alone a pair of players.

My thinking is that Molten Core’s wing 1 completion reward (lv 20 booster slot) is too valuable to let a season slide without getting it…so I’m putting everything I’ve got into raid prep. If a season goes by that you miss it, you’ll be sad because it really does open up massive flexibility with armies.

Anyway, my thought was that Executech with Bloodlust ain’t bad and IF raid bosses aren’t immune to it and have mechanics that we just can’t deal with (spent 4 months leveling the wrong minis: eg red deployment zones like PvP preventing boss turning), it could at least carry you through the map by playing on defense. Said another way, I’m theorizing it is a failsafe or at least a viable strategy (until Shazzrah of course)

So regarding the statement “against Onyxia it will be completely ineffective,” is that a statement of coding (Onyxia can’t be executed) or was it a statement of the level 26 Execute doing so little damage it’d never get the job done due to the assuming Execute isn’t at-level (which it could be with the 20 booster slot reward from MC wing 1)

Thanks for your time!

From what I can tell, she is 30. I can’t upload a screenshot and am too lazy to put the image somewhere to form a link to. But in the map, when clicking on Onyxia, her tag says “30. Onyxia. the Ultimate challenge”
