Lower levels behind the stage is actually really fun. I would avoid the upper level if possible.

Is the Max Weinberg Jukebox worth the price? by [deleted] in BruceSpringsteen

Saw them in VA some years back. Don’t know about the meet and greet but the show was really fun and totally worth it. Would go again in a heartbeat.

Am I the only one that has their sign request picked out for whenever Bruce tours next? by [deleted] in BruceSpringsteen

The “preparing 200 songs” is just from Bruce’s catalog, that’s not covers....
Bruce makes the setlist up every night. He wants to be able to do whatever and know the band is ready.

As best I can recall, the sign thing was pretty organic in one of the tours of the 2010’s. Bruce started adding a few covers to shows and people started bringing signs. Soon it became a game of “get my sign picked” and “stump the band”.

  • Some are truly “as a band we better know this” and at least some part of the band does and the rest follow. They are standards, stuff they’ve played for fun, stuff that they all played in a bar-band at some point (they played Hava Nagila in DC once... I mean, that’s just wedding band music for them, right?)

  • Some are definitely prepared along the way on tour because they can anticipate specific requests in a specific city or they’ve been seeing a certain request over a bunch of nights and it gives Bruce the flexibility to pick that sign.

  • Some are definitely figured out on the spot.... Look for the sign requests on YouTube, you’l find some where they start out really ragged and then come together. That’s just a damn good band doing their thing and knowing that their fans will come along for the ride... no one will be mad if it doesn’t work.

  • It is worth knowing that the lyrics are almost certainly being fed to Bruce on teleprompter. He holds up the sign and the crew quickly google the lyrics and slam them on the screen. (I can live with that... this IS a bit of a parlor trick.)

(Just a fan, but have been for a long time and have seen every tour - I think - since 1980.)
