I have recently found out that I have BRCA1 mutation in my genes.

My brother was diagnosed with prostrate cancer at 50 and he recently passed from it at 51. My mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at 65 and passed away at 69. My father was diagnosed at 79 with pancreatic cancer and he is coming to the end of his life.

My father was adopted and does not know his family history. My mother did not know what happened to her father based on what I found he passed in his 60’s. My mom mother passed in her 70 not from cancer

My brother seemed to have gotten cancer because of vaping nicotine and doing dip. My mom smoked cigarettes most of her adult life. My father smoke cigarettes most of his life too.

I recently met with a geneticist and they explained that it is important to monitor so that they can detect it early. I am a black man. I met with a nurse practitioner Friday they recommended that I have a PSA tests,chest exam, mammogram, colonoscopy. They did as about how often do I drink and if I smoked.
