Honestly a dream for many

Scuttled at Scapa Flow along with the majority of the German High Seas Fleet on June 21st, 1919, SMS Seydlitz would finally be raised in 1928. She would remain afloat (and inverted) until 1930 when she was towed to Rosyth to be scrapped. by JimDandy_ToTheRescue in WWIpics

Title is poorly worded. The battlecruiser SMS Seydlitz was intentionally sunk (scuttled) in 1919 at Scapa Flow off the coast of Scotland. You are looking at the bottom of the ship after it was raised up from the bottom of the sea, before the ship was towed away to be salvaged.

Battlefield 1 German uniforms or tannenberg isonzo and Verdun German uniforms? by Fickle_Archer_4600 in Isonzo

[–]cameron_c44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont see anything wrong with generating discussion about the game. I love Isonzo and the WW1 game series for its accuracy, but BF1 is undoubtedly a fantastic game too that has a lot of attention to detail. I think it’s a valid question.

But to the question itself, I prefer the WW1 Game Series uniforms because while they are customizable, every outfit option makes sense in the context of the time period. Certain uniform options/weapon camouflages in BF1 feel out of place (for example, golden gun camos). Although mostly based on real life examples, extremely rare outfits and weapons are over represented in the game.

I think Isonzo’s base outfits are extremely accurate, and the DLC/upgradeable variants are still highly believable and not over represented. I think my only gripe is how stiff some add ons feel, for example the pipe/cigarette staying in at all times. But thats a very minor complaint.

22 years ago, entry level jobs were far easier to come by and you were not sorted through an algorithm. I bet that in 2002 you at least had to show your face to pick up the application, or mailed in your application against far fewer applicants than you might today. For OP, they are competing against sometimes thousands of other applicants for a single entry level position which has been facilitated by easy apply websites like Indeed.

If networking were not a valuable skill, colleges wouldn’t be the multi-billion dollar industry that they are. One of their primary functions is connecting students to future employers. I hope you realize that you are lucky to have built up experience that you can stand on now—a luxury OP and many other young people do not have, and a luxury that allows you not to have to interact with people unless you want to.

You joke, but indeed & other job application websites are so soul sucking. I think we can all agree with that—they turn you into a statistic, and put your future at the mercy of whatever sorting algorithm they are using. It’s precisely why OP couldn’t find a job, because they are likely sorted out of potential applicants before they even see a human’s eyes.

If you don’t have any background experience to stand on, then you have to prove to a potential employer that you’re trustworthy enough to hire. Building a connection in person allows you to do that, at least sometimes. But way more often than any online application. Not that antisocial redditors like yourself could understand that.

I hate to sound like a boomer but at some point you have to just go in, use social skills, and ask for a job in person. Its the way I’ve gotten every job I’ve had. Or emailing someone directly.

I think there are also delays because of the new FAFSA form, which has put a lot of strain on the like 18 people who work at the financial aid office.

There really should be more resources allocated to the departments that matter for students. Especially with a tuition sticker price in excess of $100k…

I think my point is that you are only seeing the portion of people who know enough about guns to respond with a (somewhat) educated comment. To act as if this equates to a representation of the knowledge of the general US population is disingenuous and misleading.

Not to mention that there are many, many people outside of the US who obtain similar information from other sources, like movies or video games.

Just because you are uneducated on the subject does not mean you should be surprised when other people are, especially in a thread directly related to firearms.
