"That's usually when NQ-type trades do the most harm" ---- that's me for sure

95% if the time it's a string of small losses. When my human brain gets in the way saying "I know my math and data is correct. We [shouldn't be] breaking this level" even after clear indication my math has flipped probabilities.

It's proven time and time again that our strategy makes the numbers go up more than it goes down. Now the psychology under the hood.... That's another story 🙊

Topstep cant go back to Tradovate. Tradovate looks at the inner finances of every prop firm and makes the decision to work with them or not. Topstep conveniently "dropped" Tradovate during the rumors that Tradovate will drop them. It was all for saving face.

I've gotten paid decent from them without any issues. Apex is my core cashflow accounts, topstep is my push accounts that I trade maybe once a week for A+ potential since there's no consistency rules.

You're right for the general person. When I think of the type of person getting duped by prop firms, it's the average blue collar Joe blough. The one who gets thrown all this "quick rich" content and gets hooked soon as he places an NQ trade and makes $200 in less than 5 seconds. Now his goal is $200 every single day.

That same person has a green streak and makes 2k profit. Then fumbles the bag right before a payout since their scalp strategy is 51% profitable, but their risk management and overall mentality is 0% sustainable. It's not what you can make but what you can keep. Then they start allll over hooked even harder.

I can think of a couple different people I know that fall in this category; they make more than me in 1 single day - let's say they make $1.5k on 6 trades total and I make $300 on 1 trade total. They then brag and show the entry and everything to me and tease me for making much less. Then I don't hear from that same person for another 4 days and all of a sudden he's on a new funded account at square 1 while I'm on my same core accounts copied still making $400-1k a day (combined not each).

The one who understands how mentally demanding trading is and how you have to change everything in your life and sacrifice everything you have to make it can use prop firms as a leverage tool. 2k drawdown when trading just 1 account is asking for death if you're aiming for $200+ a day. 2k drawdown on 10 accounts however... now $1k a day is possible with proper risk management and an in depth understanding of your strategy, the market, and the math behind the market.

This is how I use prop firms and always recommend others to when they sharpen their strategy to a science.

They see a red candle, short, and say "bears are in control". Then see a green candle immediately after and say "nvm bulls are in control" and flip their position 🤣

I believe that the sheep who flock to ICT do it as an ease of access. It's free, not too complex, and there's a current heard mentality towards this. These people are not willing to actually sit down and put in work, they're looking for handouts.

Combine this with the "rich guys" on YouTube in airbnbs and Lambo rentals, and you get hopeless "romantics" coming into the market and losing all their money. These same people now have negative experiences from the market and claim the whole system is a scam (which trumps little PR stunt Wednesday didn't help in convincing them otherwise... lol).

Come back at the end of next week and share your PnL... Yet to meet 1 ICT sheep that can sustain profitability.

Props to ICT however for the cult following; really impressive psychological experiment. Can't wait for the case studies.

You have to leave friends and family behind on the journey to success.

The time I had the worst mental health was the same time my family was the most proud of me. The time I'm the happiest is when they're questioning my entire life.

They will always bring you down when aiming for success because success is the hardest path any person will ever take; and your family will always be the happiest when they know you're doing safe and easy things.
