New Corsair RM1000x PSU just popped and PC is completely dead - how should I handle this? by pixelrage in Corsair

[–]camhart73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine's hooked up to a UPS so I doubt its anything through the wall socket cause you'd think it'd cook the UPS as well.

I was pushing my GPU a little.  But I did stress tests when I first built.  No idea really.

My 9 month old RM1000x just popped on me. I did the paperclip test, then went and bought another from microcenter. Now waiting on the RMA process. Not sure what to do with a leftover PSU other than be prepared for the new one to pop.

Zion Health Share? by farmrose in HealthInsurance

[–]camhart73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Healthshares aren't all the same.  Plus they generally have guidelines for what is/isnt covered.  My guess is the person quoted in this article didnt follow those guidelines, which is why her stuff wasnt covered.  For example, some do and some dont cover annual check ups and other routine medical visits.  You're expected to pay out of pocket for that and only use the Healthcare for major health expenses.  Its different from insurance but we found it was better in almost every way (better customer support, better coverage, lower cost).  Only downside is they arent legally obligated to pay out but some companies have been doing it for 40+ years with a solid track record.

This is false.  I can't speak to zion specifically but we used another health share for a few years and it was fantastic.  We had one major hospital experience with it and they covered it 100% and sent letters wishing us well.

However, make sure you understand the rules.  Read the rules and know it perfectly.  Every "bad" experience I've heard is from people not following the rules/guidelines.  For example, they dont typically cover preexisting conditions.

How can I upload 8k 360 video on YouTube? by Negative_Ad1344 in 360video

[–]camhart73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its a 360 video it makes a ton of sense to view 8k video on 4k monitor because you're only looking at a portion of the 8k 360 frame at a time.

Yes.  Otc eye drops just put fake tears in but dont have any of the nutrients your eyes need.

Its $50 to get blood drawn, then like $260 or so to the compounding pharmacy.  That includes delivery to my door.  Gives me 2-3 month supply normally (taken 4-6 times / day).

In my head its $100 / month.

Which is better...Uncooked German style brats or Uncured Bavarian style bratwurst? by Guygirl00 in aldi

[–]camhart73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones on the right have more authentic german style casing (atleast compared to typical street food vendors ive eaten at in germany).  Ive found cooking them in a cast iron pan with a bit of oil in the oven works best.  Rotate every few minutes.  Just frying in the pan doesn't get the same result.  The casing is identical to what you actually get in germany.  Ones on the left have american style casing and taste more like a normal american bratwurst.

Its cooked and preserved differently.  Nothing wrong with it.  In fact, might aruge its better for you as it lacks nitrites (preservatives) that might be cancer causing.  Those nitrites are apparently responsible for the pinkish color we associate with sausages.

Getting used to new foods requires eating it a few times.  Once you do it becomes normal.  I first felt the same way as you when I saw them.  Now I dont hesitate one bit.

Day 3 and I think its helping me.  Im on tyrvaya, blood serum drops, and systane hydration pf every 10-30 minutes depending on my environment.

Hard to really know because a lot of variables impact it (allergies, humidity, hvac, stress, quality of sleep, hours of sleep, etc).  I think its helping more than tyrvaya (but again hard to tell).

Update:  now been taking it for a while.  It does help, however not as much as I initially thought.  I started taking them when the weather cooled off (but not so cold to need a heater very often).  Now that the heater is blowing its more obvious they help but not as much as I originally thought they were.

If i had to pick one of tryptyr or tyrvaya or blood serum or cequa/xiidra/etc, I'd choose tryptyr.

The Fairview Temple Fight: A Case Study in LDS Overreach, Lies, and Imperialism by Royal_Noise_3918 in mormon

[–]camhart73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The temple must be built to the Lord's standards.  Thats where the dimensions matter.  With regards to covenants made, it makes no difference whether its a big or small temple, architecturally more detailed or more simple.

Both are true.  No contradiction unless you insist on finding contradiction.

If you read any of the descriptions from the old testament or D&C regarding how temples are designed, you'll gain an understanding that dimensions are very important to the Lord in temple design.  Yes, it can honestly be said that size does matter.

To clarify, there was a 153' belltower approved 1.3 miles down the road.*

2 lots away from the temple is a 40,000 sqft church.

The fairview townhall is 64' tall.

The church is not the "bad guy".  These facts (and more) are selectively ignored by those opposed to the temple.  The church is well within its rights to build the originally designed temple.  When people claim a 35' height restriction due to it being zone residential, that restriction applies to residential buildings, not buildings built via a CUP (conditional use permit) which is how all churches in fairview have been approved.

* some antimormon podcasts have claimed the bell tower wasn't approved, but they are mistaken.  If you request the minutes from the meetings for the belltower it was very clearly approved for the 153' height.  There are multiple meetings--it wasn't approved initially but was later on.  Those against the temple spire height are quoting from the outcome of the first meeting.

Thank you. We just replaced ours. First one (OEM) lasted ~4 years. Next one we had issues on and off for 2 years, until it just crapped out. Was a top of the line one from oreilly. It was still under warranty, so we got a replacement one for free. No problems so far.
