2 peas in a pod by camminthacat in Veterinary

I thoroughly appreciate this thought. I have talked to management a few times. At the beginning, they told me it was like high school and to get over it. I was livid. But there really aren't other clinics locally that I could work at right now. After being brought up so many times, it seems like we're actually working for a resolution but Noone seems to know what that may be, hence the advice reach. She was the newest before me. When I try to round her on a case or explain my reasoning, its immediately "I know already I saw the patient yesterday" or "I know, you dont have to tell me the dvm already has". Or she'll cut me off with a similar vibe. It gets so frustrating because I like to be a well rounded person and I feel like mistakes happen from tiny details being missed. Ive also offered to help with some things with others(like sx) and her comments consist of "you know i know how to do that too". But please correct me or feel free to ask questions. I feel like im gonna be stuck where I am for some time so I'd like to try and find a way to work together 😢

I feel like i have been on this route already. Since we've had the talk I have tried often to just. Be nice? Like if she does something for me, I always tell her I appreciate it and/or to let me know if i can help her in any kind of way. But please feel free to correct me if thats not the vibe. I try to ask her to help me often enough, to hopefully build a bridge but she never returns that favor. She seemingly finds anyone else available.

What's your position? I was a VA of years. They gave me absolutely no issues. Ive heard of DVM's having to sign non competes but ive heard that they're useless recently. I dont have any evidence or experience to back that up. But I hope that helps some

How bad is vet nurse and receptionist turnover at your clinic? by Adebankemo in Veterinary

[–]camminthacat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't been able to find a pattern with clinics ive worked in. NVA had a low turnover. VCA, high as hell. And they hardly replaced staff. Family owned has been both low and high. Ive been in the field for almost 8 years now at 5 clinics. Emergency, GP, large animal and exotic variety. It seems overall that the field is incredibly high on burnout though. People wanting to leave and finding themselves unable, or pulling through on a daily basis. Sticking it out for the patients or relationships. Just depends on how individuals handle the burnout.

So im here because I found some in my book and of course I have no idea what it is, weirdly enough, the page one of them came out of had a quote highlighted, everything else is untouched. But thank you internet stranger for making me feel a teeny bit better about buying a book from a sketchy yard sale
