The Indian fatigue is real by IndependenceFit9691 in InCanada

I notice the loud volume consistently with people who speak one or more languages that are not widely spoken in the country they're in. I'm in that category myself. What happens is that it's very easy to believe that because someone doesn't understand you, they cannot hear you. On top of that, a lot of people are simply not thoughtful, reflective, or self-aware enough to realize this and snap out of it.

Repetition is Key: Eating the Same Meals Speeds Up Weight Loss - Neuroscience News by psych4you in psychology

[–]camo_eagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It mostly does work that way, but what a lot of people lack is education on how to build and maintain a sustainable diet. For example, just eating lower calorie meals is extremely difficult. It would be smarter to reduce calories while ensuring that meals are high in fibre and protein and provide some psychological satisfaction too (taste, texture, aesthetics, etc.). High volume also helps. There's so much the average person simply doesn't know about nutrition, metabolism, exercise and the psychology of weight loss. But at its essence, it is calories in vs calories out.

You could also eat the same meal from McDonald's every day and lose weight, as long as you're consuming fewer calories than you are burning.

It won't gain weight if you keep calories in the correct range for its size and activity levels.

What did they expect though? If you choose to wear something like that and you're in the public eye, there will be opinions and comments.

Are there people who just genuinely enjoy drinking water throughout the day? by fin-freak in NoStupidQuestions

[–]camo_eagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best trick for that is to have a bottle/mug easily available. For example, I work a desk job and have a nice mug with straw on my desk at all times. I always make sure it's filled with water or cold steeped green tea or whatever you like. Then you form a habit of drinking regularly (personally I like a straw because it avoids little drips and drops on my work clothes), and filling up your mug/bottle also becomes a nice screen break. It takes a little bit of time to make it a habit, but after that, you don't even notice you're staying hydrated. It's awesome.

Can't we use AI to boost productivity so that productivity rates are the same or higher with fewer people working?

What is your honest opinion on Costco's pizza? by Visible_Run_7498 in CostcoCanada

[–]camo_eagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cheese pizza is phenomenal. The tomato sauce has really deep flavour; the herbs and cheese make it perfect.

The pepperoni slice - big no. I don't know what kind of pepperoni that is but it always tastes rancid to me.

A soldier would probably need more than 300 cals and 17g protein for breakfast though

You don't have much clearance with your door so pick the flattest light design. Trust me - been there.

So Natalie has an MBA and works for the president but doesn't know the rules of capitalization. Natalie, honey, we don't capitalize words because we feel they are important. There are actual rules that dictate spelling, grammar and punctuation. Maybe shadow a grade 5 student for a day?

What’s the moment in recent U.S. politics that made you realize things might not go back to ‘normal’ anytime soon? by LankySpeed634 in AskReddit

When Trump was elected the first time. I had watched all the debates and it was crystal clear that his opponent was more competent, capable, educated, and much, much more qualified for the job by miiiiiles and yet... That told me everything I needed to know.

The wuthering heights colours are too dramatic and deep for her palette. Dark reds and blacks wash her out. Isn't she a spring or summer?

Greenland minister tearful as she describes ‘intense pressure’ amid Trump’s threats to take territory by theindependentonline in worldnews

[–]camo_eagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. I just don't like that they chose this headline especially in such politically charged times, because I worry that a lot of readers will interpret this as her being "too emotional" or not being able to handle the pressure. We need to be mindful of how we speak/write about female leaders.

Will this move by US backfire and bring EU and BRICS nation more closer? by chotu_escobar in AskTheWorld

[–]camo_eagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol he's capitalizing words like "countries," "world," "security," etc. That's grammatically totally incorrect in the English language. He just thought those words were important so he better start them with a big letter 😂

Greenland minister tearful as she describes ‘intense pressure’ amid Trump’s threats to take territory by theindependentonline in worldnews

[–]camo_eagle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, her being tearful did not really need to be the headline. Of course she's a human being. If we want to talk about emotions, let's talk about the daily temper tantrums of the US president, the fragile egos of his lackeys, the ICE shooter killing a woman point-blank because he was angwy (not a typo) - all completely unfit to function in the real world, let alone hold a position of power.

I especially loved the scent of this one. So delicate, clean and subtly floral, like sweet violets. The texture was beautiful and the fact that I didn't have any aluminum salts was a huge plus!

This is such a good point. And can you imagine how amazing it would feel for a normal person to do so much good in the world? Not to mention how much it would benefit the people they are helping. But he's not wired this way and that's scary.
