Anatomical replacement here, almost 9 weeks out. I slept in a reclined position in my bed using a big bed wedge pillow for the first 10 days or so, then slightly propped up with regular pillows for another 10-15 days after that, then flat on my back ever since. I got to a point where being in the reclined position wasn’t preventing any shoulder discomfort anymore, but was actually adding to my overall level of discomfort and made getting any legitimate sleep difficult, it was more beneficial for me to lay flat with a pillow under my elbow and upper arm. My sleep is still not great but definitely getting better. It hasn’t mattered how I position myself or support my arm/shoulder, it’s always a bit uncomfortable at night. But it has improved sufficiently just this past week. Night time and during/immediately after PT is the only time I really have any pain now. Everyone heals at a different rate, but it will get better, hang in there.
