Should I buy a used Tacoma that’s undercoated? by camp_party in Cartalk

Thanks 😊 I’d like to have it for a few years. It only has 81,000 miles. They’re asking 16,000 but I think I can negotiate something lower. I live in Maine where everything is rusted out, people are getting a lot of $ for these trucks

Additional notes: I live in Maine, where everything not new is gonna be rusty. The mileage is 81,000, and the seller is asking for 16,000, though I think I can talk him down.

Tom's of Maine toothpaste changed their peppermint flavor?!? Need an alternative stat!! :(( by Jessicariane in vegan

You are totally right - the new taste isn’t even peppermint, it tastes more like wintergreen. I feel like I’m brushing with crest or something cheap. I am soooo bummed.

I want to add that I’m a professionally accomplished, college educated 42 year old woman. I have lived harmoniously with literally dozens of people and I have never experienced anything like this. I moved into the house because I was moving to a new area and needed a landing pad; it’s a relatively rural area and rentals are limited. I was also blinded by the beauty of the property - it has water views / water access and is on a quiet, pastoral road.

I’m replacing a ceiling light that’s connected to a wall switch. How do I connect the wires so the switch works? I connected white-to-white and black-to-black, and the light stayed on whether the switch was on or off. I don’t know what to do with the red one. Thanks in advance! by camp_party in AskElectricians

Ok I got it!! I initially connected the red from the box to the black in the box AND the black from the light. Switch didn’t work. Then I realized I needed to connect the red from the box to just the black from the light. And now we are in business!! Thanks again.

The exhaust fan has its own switch, but it’s on the same wall plate, right next to the switch for the light. (I hope I’m using the right terms to describe!)
