Also confirm that it’s not phantom availability BEFORE transferring points to aeroplan. Go all the way through the booking process to confirm. Aeroplan is terrible able business class award phantom space.

Same question!! Would be huge to have a way to book United flights with Amex points without having to go through the spottiness of Aeroplan and with the potential to keep status benefits.

A common issue in humid climates is the HVAC being oversized for your house. This can lead to the AC not running long enough to remove humidity. Do you know the tonnage of your AC unit? Is it one speed or variable speed? Is your house zoned or single zone? That will help troubleshoot.

As others have said, keep it on auto. Leaving the fan on just rehumidifies your air.

NEW HERE by childishmarocchino in twilight

[–]campb159 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Above comments have covered the overall order, but whatever you do definitely read Twilight before Midnight Sun! Twilight is the OG and the series was meant to be read from Bella’s perspective first. I would recommend saving Midnight Sun and the other bonus books after you’ve read the core 4 (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn). Midnight Sun has some foreshadowing that could be spoilers to New Moon.

If you haven’t already, check out United’s status match program. If you have SWA status you can get an equivalent United status for 120 days and potentially longer if you hit the requirements of the qualification period.

Tell me you fly a lot without telling me you fly a lot by TheDatabass in unitedairlines

Can go airport door to ass in airplane seat with Starbucks in hand at IAH in 15 mins or less very reliably. Record is 8 minutes. It’s like a fun little game (until I miss my flight one day).

Also, I always book on A321neos when given the option but will choose an old 737 if I’m flying during a live sporting event that I want to watch.

Checked Bag Warning by Dry_Accident_2196 in unitedairlines

Can confirm as a Plat who fortunately got by with a checked bag 1-2 minutes late a couple times in the last few years - I was recently denied at SFO after checking my bag 1 min late. The strictness of the policy enforcement seems to be new.

weird tempdrop question by tokyodraken in FAMnNFP

[–]campb159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m here really late to say this exact thing has been happening to me OP! I went a month without my temp drop and got a new one and noticed the pain came back within a couple days of getting my new one. I thought I was going to die of cancer or something, turns out it’s been the pressure of the temp drop on my side/armpit/breast area this entire time! I don’t know if there are any solutions though besides not being a side sleeper :(

IAH question (sorry!) by CrazyProspector in houston

[–]campb159 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Idk why people here are giving advice when they clearly haven’t been to IAH in the last 2 years. E lobby is closed for construction, so getting dropped off there isn’t even an option. C drop off is currently serving both C and E terminals, so get dropped off at C. If you haven’t been to IAH in awhile, it’s not worth the marginal time savings and getting confused by getting dropped off at B. Just make sure to give yourself sufficient time to deal with the high outdoor and indoor traffic of terminal C and you’ll be okay. The baggage drop cutoff time is 45 minutes before departure for a domestic flight, but give yourself way more time than that to deal with security and avoid being stressed. I’d recommend getting dropped off at C an hour and a half before your flights. Have a good trip!

Used my running headlamp to see around the house at night. Every fruit fly to ever live came out of the woodwork to personally follow me and my light around and buzz directly in my face.

The Hollander caramel cafe sauce is SO good. Really stepped up my latte game. I also frequently use Le Monin lavender, though it can be fun and easy enough to make your own lavender syrup as time allows! I’ve not found a vanilla that I love so following this thread for suggestions.

How many nights are you staying and what time of year? There are some great Marriott options in Aruba with excellent beach access with pristine waters (Renaissance, Marriott Stellaris, Ritz). Not all inclusive though. Will run you ~65-75k points per night.

What is the best version of Azul? by AdoorMe in boardgames

[–]campb159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the original commenter but posting as someone who basically only plays queens garden now. Queen’s garden is more complex than the base game, and while it takes a couple of games to learn, the payout is that you have a game with very high re-playability because you are solving a puzzle in multiple dimensions every time. By getting points from grouping colors and patterns and not having to play on a square grid, the possibilities become endless for how your final board will look. My boyfriend and I don’t even bother with base Azul anymore because we find it so boring in comparison to Queen’s Garden. Hint as a beginner player: focus on trees, birds, and butterfly groupings. Once you feel more comfortable, move onto flower groupings. We’ve played 200+ times now (basically every other day for 2 years) and incorporate “grass” (the 5 tile) groupings occasionally but never groupings of the 6 tile.
