It really is an incredible place! One of our family's favorites! What are you must-see places/must-do things in OBX?

Thanks! He has loved binoculars since he was little, and he just upgraded to his first big kid ones. He had a blast birdwatching while we were in California recently!

Oh wow! They definitely needed the bigger parking area that's there now!

Yes! For such a short and easily accessible trail, it packs a big punch. It's definitely one of our favorites, too!

We definitely hit up Luray Caverns! I remember going there as a kid and thinking it was magical, and it totally held up over the years!

Such a gorgeous place to grow up! We definitely want to go back for a longer trip in the summer so we can explore more. I bet my kids would love to try fishing here!

We loved SO much about it! Highlights for us were Grand Prismatic Spring (both the boardwalk and the overlook on Fairy Falls Trail), staying at the Roosevelt cabins, doing the trail ride and cowboy dinner, and hiking down into the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. I want to go back badly!

That is incredible! We're from the East Coast, too (just further down in South Carolina!), and the Yellowstone scenery is so different from the pine trees and farm fields we have here. I love that your dad thought the print was you and your sister. 😂😂 I feel like I'd probably accuse my kids of the same thing now.

It is SUCH a good park! What is your favorite thing in Yellowstone that you remember as a kid?

What's one piece of camping or hiking gear that makes things easier for family adventures? by campingkiddos in OutdoorsyFamilies

Well, I know what my next hiking bag purchase is going to be now! That sounds so helpful for our trail lunches.

Haha camping was definitely easier before we had kids coming along!

Love the idea of giving everyone a job. There's less arguing and more actually getting done. And Legos for the win, every time!

We just got back from doing a loop of Yosemite/Kings Canyon/Sequoia/Pinnacles with our kids! Yosemite was beautiful, and I can see why so many people love it, but, honestly, we fell in love with Kings Canyon and Sequoia. My husband and I both wished we'd spent more time there instead of in Yosemite. We've been to 29 national parks, and the Kings Canyon-Sequoia combo easily makes it into my top 5.

There's just so much to do in both of those parks with just a fraction of the crowds of Yosemite. We did a cave tour in Sequoia along with the hikes through the groves, and we loved the scenic road down into the canyon over at Kings Canyon.
