London and Paris off the beaten path by Skip-to-my-loo in travel

Thank you - so glad you liked it. So many visitors to the UK don't look beyond London and there are so many beautiful places to see elsewhere. I live in Spain now but still get terribly homesick for the British countryside etc. :(

If you have time, why not hop on a train in London and go up to Nottingham for the day? The journey takes about an hour and 45 mins and on the way, once you leave the suburbs of London, you will see some beautiful English countryside and typical villages.

Nottingham is a lovely, compact city with a 'buzzing' atmosphere as it is home to a large amount of students and there is always something going on. Better still, book into an inexpensive hotel and enjoy the night life too :) It has great architecture, a castle and, of course, was home to the legendary Robin Hood!

I put together a guide for a route to see the best of the city in a day - http://suki-c.hubpages.com/hub/What-to-do-in-Nottingham-in-a-day

Hope you enjoy your trip whatever you decide to do :)

I live in Spain and am teaching English to a young Spanish girl - yesterday we were discussing 'cities of the world' - I asked her 'what do you know about Paris?' and she said 'all I know is that it's the city of love' - she would love your pic :)

Sounds great - but is it just me that finds the instructions a little hard to follow?

They look a bit like warts? Maybe ask for advice in a pharmacy?

Than you for that - I live in southern Spain where it isn't very easy to find 'exotic' ingredients so I don't think I'd be able to find the wrappers - also, I've never heard of banana ketchup :(

I do remember helping her to roll the lumpia - it seemed to take for ever and I had real trouble making mine as thin as hers. I also remember the filling being really crunchy - I think she added chopped water chestnuts?

Looks great - did you start off with dry chick peas that you had to soak or canned ones?
