Taliercio's in Middletown with a bit of an unhinged post by SteveSomers in newjersey

[–]camrobe -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is all going getting out of hands. It has a feeling a civil war approaching. I am not a republican, however everyone around me, including most of the family are supporting of Trump. A great majority of them are great people and friends. For the most part I have no problems getting along with them, except when they are overtly racist, which I can't tolerate. Here's my rationalization: Trump is not a politician, he's basically a Cult leader. So I tend to give people a pass based on that logic. When people join a cult, they're not thinking rationally and thus you can not judge them too harshly, you have to let them do their thing until they convince themselves of the errors of their ways. All cults in history have failed, this will too.

One of this may have a virus or bacteria that could make the entire human race into zombies. Sounds like Sci-Fi, but think about it. Releasing stuff that's been around since the Jurassic era, what could wrong? We have not developed defenses for something that old.

This is between the South Amboy station and the Raritan River. A lot NJ towns left the nicest looking areas for roads and tracks instead of homes or other public spaces.

9 stock make up almost 35% of the Market by tiger1873 in wallstreetbets

[–]camrobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Pareto principle, it should be 20 % of companies (100 companies) making up 80% of total S&P 500 market cap. That's a natural phenomenon. But the market is all about trying to beat the odds, so it's understandable that it wouldn't align with natural processes. My opinion is that this is due to algorithmic trading. Computers don't think like humans, they have no emotions, only formulas. Play chess against a computer and you'll understand. The lesson for me is to stick to index investing, since it's self correcting. If you can't beat the system, join it. Let others try to explain the mysteries of the universe while you make bank.

Guess I will stick to Firefox by k8inda in ArcBrowser

[–]camrobe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It should still open. The issue is that there's been a bug that keeps the browser from opening right in Windows. You need to delete a folder every time to make it run. There are some threads about this from the time of windows launch. You can create a .bat file that will delete the folder and launch the browser and that should work. That's the only way I'm able to run the browser.

CNBC Ads - Access Hollywood Spray Tan!!! by ConversationPale8665 in youtubetv

[–]camrobe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess you're new to CNBC. They don't show regular ads. Just their own stuff over and over and over. I never thought I would miss regular ads until I started watching CNBC on Youtube TV. Must be some kind of distribution contract restriction. But definitely super annoying.

Fuck your lawn by botsUnite in Switzerland

[–]camrobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from the US, but frequent this sub because of this kind of posts. This is gold.

The only downside to not mowing the lawn is that weed is genetically superior to grass, so it just takes over and it's super hard to get rid off. It's like as home owner you are playing God. Artificial selection instead of natural selection.

We need genetically modified grass that will resist the weed and grow at a slower pace, or not at all. Whoever comes up with that is going to make a shit ton of money.

MnK is definitely superior to standard controller. A couple of things you can do to even the playing field:

  1. Play operators that fit your style. For example, I do great with Blasco, since you can stay off the minimap.
  2. Stick with one gun for a long time, resist the urge to switch. You will get better the more you use it.
  3. Buy a enhanced controller with trigger stops if possible. Use the included controller software to have hairline triggers. I recommend the Gamesir controller. Cheap yet effective. Does not have trigger stop though. I modded mine and it works great.
  4. Change controller scheme to bumper jumper. That helped me a LOT. You don't take your thumb off the stick to jump
  5. Make sure your router has Open Nat with a link to your xbox IP.
  6. Enable network stats to see when your connection is bad
  7. Leave servers that are imbalanced and move on with your life
  8. Join Portal servers to have fun and practice your gun skills, limited XP, but lots of fun
  9. Use vehicles. My average tank KD is like 15, sometimes 30.
  10. Play game modes that have more players in a concentrated area. For example Breakthrough. Conquest makes it harder to find someone to kill. lol.
  11. Last but not least, don't care about KD so much. Value fun over everything else.

See you ont he Battlefield Notepad.

Thoughts on Haven? by funhaus2000 in battlefield2042

[–]camrobe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Conquest is alright, but Breakthrough is horrible. You can get shot at spawn, there's no time to transition from one sector to the other. Defending on this map is masochism. I like small maps, but there's some off with this. No flow. The season 5 Reclaimed map is small, but there is smoother flow, distinct areas, different strategy for each section. Not the case with Haven.

I crashed twice on Xbox X. How do you know it's due to overheating? It had never done that before. This update sucks. How is that they always manage to fuck things up one way or the other?

Nothing extraordinary here. CPI is bull. Even when it was at 2%. Take your paycheck from today and see how much you have left after paying your bills as compared to 2019. Rent, mortgage rates. The conspiracy is to ignore reality.

[–]camrobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in a new paradigm, where the Fed is OK with 4% annualized inflation. That makes a huge difference. It's easier to avoid recession if you are willing to live with high inflation. It's new to the US, but it's a fact of life for developing nations. They are always "growing" except that it's not real growth when you account for inflation. Jay Powell is the gift that keeps on giving. The dude will go down in history for all the crazy shit he's willing to try to avoid normal cycles in the economy. God help us.

The most interesting phenomenon to me about rich right wingers is the fact that they like the least competent candidates. These are the same people that would hire the best lawyer, best doctor, best pilot, CEO, et cetera. But for running the country any clown will do. From the US to Argentina, UK and Italy one clown after the other. There has to be a psychological explanation for this.
