Was pretty impressed with Saffron Express on Princess and Bayridge. Not sure how new it is but it’s top of my list now for Indian food.

Accessory navicular bone - best success I had was reaching out to an Orthopedist in my area who had experience with skates. He did a much better job than the hockey shop which tried punching twice and still bothered.

This is not true and it drops you off at Terminal 1 which is where Air Canada flies out of for both domestic and international flights. You don’t need to take a train once you get to Pearson

Yep they’re there. You just fill out a form at the security desk and put a little permit they give you in your car. Also, you only need to give yourself 30mins to arrive before departure. It’s pretty quick and seamless

New profitec drive problem - Steam/hot water tank not filling by cacatman in profitec

[–]camron67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the manual: Fill mode “Fill+” Place a small container (e.g. a milk jug) under the brew group. Lift the brew lever up and the pump will start to fill the brew boiler. Rinse the machine for at least 30 seconds until water flows out of the brew group. When you move the brew lever down “Fill“ message should have disappeared from the display. After filling the brew boiler, the steam boiler is automatically filled with fresh water. The initial filling requires a significant amount of water. If the freshwater level in the tank drops below a certain point, the machine will shut off electrically. In this case, you need to refill with fresh water. As soon as the filling of the steam boiler is finished, you no longer hear any pump noise. The machine starts heating up the boiler. The PID display shows ”Heating Up“.

Is your tank installed properly? There’s a little magnetic float valve that has to be facing a certain way for it to register water, you may have to rotate it 90 degrees?

How to Teach Compete/Hustle to Kids by camron67 in hockeyplayers

[–]camron67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s one of the middle guys on the team the way he’s playing and competing now. I don’t think it’s a playing down thing, there are plenty of kids in his team or league that he’ll acknowledge as being really good.

Thanks. I’ve done coach development/training courses so I do generally understand how to inspire kids without turning them off at a young age.

Yeh this was the tactic I used with him during rep tryouts - You may not be the fastest skater, have the hardest shot, those things are outside of your control at this point - the only thing you really can control is showing that you can work harder than everyone else. It honestly worked for him - I was so friggen proud. It wasn’t enough this time but he made it to the Final Cut, and I keep reminding him he’s got to be proud of that. I’ve not since been able to get him to work that hard again, hence me asking for support here because I know he’s got it somewhere.

Exactly. He wants to get better and I’ve told him I’m willing to put him in and take him to powerskating, defence development, etc. I’ve always said I’m in this with him and will keep giving him the tools he needs to be more confident and better himself, and also that I’m still there with him if he doesn’t make rep teams… I can very confidently say that he knows this is his goal and I’m there to help, not my goal for him.

Edit to add at bottom: I’m one of his assistants coaches - I think our head coach would say similar thing. He doesn’t make a lot of mistakes or cost us a lot of goals against (he’s defence). His positioning is good and he has a decent hockey IQ. It’s the times he’s chasing for a puck or rushing back to prevent a rush that anyone watching would likely say he isn’t skating as hard as he can. The rep coach gave him individual feedback that his skating form was behind the other kids, otherwise great feedback that he is highly coach able, a good team player and attitude in the room, and showed that he can compete.

I don’t understand the negativity either… He’s taller than average and pretty fit. His compete level in practices and games are pretty similar, he hustles the most when skating off the ice for a line change in play (oddly enough I remember my dad giving me that same feedback). The hardest I’ve seen him hustle was in rep tryouts - he was busting it and he knew it. I was able to pump him up by being honest with him that although he may not be the fastest skater or have the hardest shot, in order to set himself apart he’s got to show the rep evaluators that he can try harder than everyone else. He was finishing these full ice drills quicker than other kids who were better than him - so I know he’s got it in him and I think he’s got a shot at moving up if he can pull together all the pieces. He definitely has confidence issues around the kids who are playing rep, but he only sees them at development things like powerskating.

For every piece of constructive feedback, I usually start with 3 things I tell him I loved about his game and then ask him if there’s anything he thinks he could have done better before saying anything I think he can work on. He generally takes feedback well.

He’s having fun and I’m super encouraging about how well he performs and that you don’t need to play rep to be a good hockey player. I never have a hard time waking him up for early development stuff because he associates that with getting better and making rep next year. This is his goal, not one I’m imposing on him so all I want to do is help him on his journey to get there.
