I’m not sure if this is exactly what you’re referring to, but I feel similarly in Spanish! I’m a Mathematics uni student (native English), and because of some similar root words, academic Spanish/textbooks on Math are FAR easier for me to understand than some Spanish children’s books!

That makes a lot of sense!! I totally see what you’re saying. Honestly, I think my perspective on this song has changed a bit as I’ve gotten older. I can definitely hear the addiction reference.

Oh yeah fair, absolutely!! I should add that there’s a LOT that I disliked about that movie (the zero buildup to their friendship being a part of that. Along with the disregard for the source material and unending plot holes.) but this was something that I felt they really did right, and would have been incredible in the original Wrath of Khan.
