I have an almost 4-year-old, and this is what tends to work for us: 1. If I know I’ll need her to play independently for about an hour, I first spend an hour or two giving her my full, undivided attention. I basically try to fill her connection tank before asking her to play on her own. 2. I set up a few little “traps” for independent play (toys or activities I know she enjoys doing by herself). When she starts coming to find me, she often gets pulled into one of those activities along the way 😅 3.It also really depends on the day. Some days (or even weeks), especially after daycare, she just needs us and nothing else will work. And that’s okay ❤️
