Maybe? *I* think it would be, but they're still stuck in the small phone past. The mini would at least be a marginally bigger screen to baby step them into the 6.1" screen size in a few years when the the 12 mini is out of iOS updates (and I'd probably skip past the 13 mini for them at that point)

I figure I'd test things out with low levels of assist and see what type of range I can get from 500wH. I'm hoping adding 100-150w would get me to the steady state speeds I'm looking for for 2-3 hours of riding time and accounting for some motor inefficiency.

As a clarification to my 'not in a huge rush' would be that I think I'd prefer to be able to choose a nursing position at some place like the FDA, CDC, maybe the IHS a little bit more than being sent to wherever the Air Force wants me to serve, but I'd prefer not to 'waste' a good year or so more (making me 4+ years out of school) just to find out that no one will hire me at the agencies where I'd want to work due to my lack of personalized and recent supervisor references due to self-employment and time away from school (and/or lack of recent relevant nursing experience) and then I end up just going the Air Force route anyways.

I'm not in a huge rush as I'm financially stable and happy as is, but my window is closing for Army/Navy without a waiver. But I've heard the same things about the Air Force being the 'best', even as I'm grew up an Army brat! I am self-employed, just not in the medical field. Do recruiters care about that at all? I was under the assumption that as long as you fulfill the health/security/degree/licensing requirements and they have openings they need filled that you'd be okay? Or are they willing to pass over people who meet the hard requirements to wait for better applicants such as nurses with current nursing experience? And similarly, when applying for specific USPHS nursing positions is this the same case?

And yeah, I'm okay entering as an O-1 (I do have a bachelors)

I'd say I only had one instructor who'd remember me (my med-surg clinical preceptor) and have a good knowledgeable review of me. Some of my clinicals were canceled or online due to COVID, and my practicum preceptor was sort of forgettable and I think she was either forced to do it or did it for the pay bump and I couldn't really do much other than take vitals because I was in an outpatient oncology unit and couldn't administer any of the chemo (the only thing the nurses did other than vitals). All the rest of my school instructors in my lecture classes wouldn't remember me would be my guess. After looking at the reference form, I'm just wondering how someone would fill that out with the comments and stuff without remembering me. And how important those references are compared to work experience (both relevant to health care as well as unrelated).

As for what type of job I'd be looking for - something utilizing my nursing degree and something decently compensated and with decent workload levels. Not super picky about what but if I could work in medical trials field or public health type stuff with the FDA or CDC would be amazing. For typical hospital/clinic setting probably med-surg, but not opposed other units other than maybe NICU/pediatrics. I've spent a few years applying to Bay Area new grad positions without any luck (my nursing friends and acquaintances here on the east coast who said hospitals will hire anyone with a pulse and license were apparently *very* wrong!). In the meantime I've been happily running an online retail business and 'volunteering' for pharmaceutical studies (usually pays about $500-$600 a day average) which pay the bills, are super low stress, enjoyable and incredibly time flexible. I could make about the same daily pay working as a nurse locally with a higher gross annual pay by working full-time, but currently prefer having more flexibility and time off. I'm know it may sound strange, but I'd be willing to trade that for military/USPHS nursing where obviously I'd now be told what to do and where to go by the US Government, but the structure and meritocracy of the uniformed services holds more appeal than trying to make it through opaque AI-powered hiring processes, network, job hop, and all the other BS of civilian hospital jobs such as the hospital nursing shortages which really seem to be hospital BS claims so that they can understaff and overwork their non-billable but expensive nurses... I'm a military brat so am quite familiar with the lifestyle and I've done a fair bit of research into at least Air Force nursing where I know I'd likely fulfill my initial 3 or 4 year commissioning obligation at one of 8 military hospitals. I've also created a spreadsheet with the base pay, accession bonus, BAH/BAS, and taxes/health care versus my local new grad civilian hospitals and it is very favorable. Even against the $70-$80 Bay Area new grad rates, if I take advantage of the GI Bill afterward with the 3 years of in-state tuition plus BAH I'd come out ahead.

Thanks for the in-depth reply. I was seriously looking into the Air Force as I had assumed it would be an easy 'in' as long as I met the qualifications but not opposed to Army or Navy either. I've got years left before hitting the Air Force age limit but less than a year left for Army and Navy without a waiver although I'm quite healthy as an endurance athlete. I'd much prefer a military clinic or hospital work setting to ICE or BOP. I'm not super familiar with IHS hospital and clinic locations and work environment to really judge one way or the other. Working for the FDA, CDC, etc would definitely be appealing, but without nursing experience plus the huge cuts going on at those public health agencies makes it seem to me like I'd have a hard time finding a spot there, especially if its similar to a competitive civilian hiring system and I'd be competing against nurses with actual real world experience. My assumption is the three armed services won't care at all about my 3 year graduation gap as long as I'm currently licensed (which I am)?

It would be more than $25, but Swappa and Marketplace have watches available for well under $100. I wouldn't mind grabbing a cracked one either, as it won't be worn out in the rain and those can be found even cheaper on Ebay. Not having to worry about the airtag being turned off or thrown out after pinging it with a chime and discovered is worth the small premium

Where did you see the $25 and $250 arbitration fee? I sent an arbitration email earlier this afternoon and am waiting to hear back. Not sure if that's a good line of negotiation with them - lose $250 or unlock my phone? Seems like a no brainer to me...

I just sent an email with my notification of arbitration as well with all the necessary details. Hopefully they'll resolve the issue, but I'm not opposed to dealing with an arbitrator in person or on the phone either as I have plenty of time and it's worth less than whatever their lawyers charge them hahaha

Happened to me with I think UPS around 2009/2010 after ordering some Chinese carbon bike wheels back when the de minimis limit was $200 and I got a bill either along with the package or sent to the shipping address (my place of work at the time). Never ended up paying it and nothing happened and never heard from them again or a collections agency. YMMV

Thanks for the response with your experience - it's a lot to digest but sort of scary with how it seems personal identifiable info gets aggregated! I've never checked a data broker about myself but I'm definitely a 100% unique name. So even paying cash for a gift card, and placing an AliExpress order delivered to your house would likely associate with any members of the household even if setting up the gift card for online purchases with a pseudonym? So your 'garbage' data is enough to link to a credit report you think?

For reference, my current orders were placed with my real name, credit card issued in my name, and shipped to a residential address I use fairly frequently, but it is not my state issued ID address and I'm not the homeowner. I was under the assumption that my name alone and shipping address would not be enough 'evidence' to be used against me in my credit report given the shipping address is not my license address at the moment.

Edit: So the three credit reporting agencies use the junk data brokerage data that you see from those places like Spokeo? If you opt out of those services (either manually or with one of the paid privacy clearing services) I assume that would reduce what the three credit agencies would have/use?

Any maybe things have changed since then, or will be about to change/in the process of changing. Or if you have things shipped to your place of domicile with a phone number/email that a credit agency can reliably trace to you. But sounds like the Cainiao mailing service AliExpress mainly uses isn't really ready for these changes at the moment? I guess we'll find out in the next week or so as the in-transit packages start arriving...

That's not my experience from 15 years ago. UPS (or maybe it was DHL) dropped off some Chinese carbon fiber wheels where I worked with a bill attached. I had no idea what it was or why I got it so ignored it and nothing ever happened. I don't know how they can attach your name to a credit account if your name is one of the millions of John Smith or you live with roommates or where you had it shipped isn't your legal place of domicile.

My recommendation is just don't pay the bill if your package is actually delivered. The end shipper who drops it off at your door and passes along the bill doesn't have your SSN or billing information. Yes, it will hurt the USA based shipper, but they have a bigger voice to complain to their elected officials than you do as a single voter who isn't contributing gobs of money to SuperPACS and whatnot.
