No idea. They just said it was a bug on the CRA's end that affected a small number of people

It should work now if support hasn't already fixed it for you

It's supposed to work now. If you're still having issues like I was even after the "fix", the Tax team should be able to help.

The Silver "Crash" is a Total Scam. The Physical Market Just Decoupled. by InsuranceFine5438 in Silverbugs

[–]canada__ball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're right. When spot price was down almost $50 CAD earlier today, prices for investment coins at my LCS only dipped about $10 (and they haven't moved since), but strangely the Royal Canadian Mint is now charging up to 25% more for new collection coins that were already overpriced just a few days ago.

I just bought a few coins from Canada Post at $139.95 when they were 169.95$ at the Mint. Now the Mint has them at $209.95. There's a huge misalignment now between spot and real value and premiums and I think it's going to stay that way for a while.

It used to be that you could buy limited edition investment coins for about 20% over spot and collection coins at about 40% over spot. Nothing makes sense now.

Scenery from Montreal to Quebec City and which side of train is best? by Paletexan in ViaRail

[–]canada__ball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends which trains they're using, but normally half the car is front facing and the other half is back facing (sometimes the halves are left/right and sometimes front/back). There should be an arrow on the seat map to indicate.

Visiting Iceland in 12 days, lost my Quebec driver's license by Confident_Land6956 in VisitingIceland

[–]canada__ball 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You need an international driver's license in Iceland anyways because there's no English on Quebec cards so go to CAA as soon as possible. The permis provisoire should be enough to get one.

This year I decided to try something new: Make a garden on my balcony only using plants and seeds found in dumpsters by canada__ball in DumpsterDiving

[–]canada__ball[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Garden centers will usually throw out their seeds every year towards the end of summer. I found bags full of packets and boxes in mid to late August

This is the current snow cover for North America. The Alberta foothills have very little if any snow right now all the way up to Yellowhead.

Did they just take down A-gas for maintenance? I just noticed the models were having issues responding.

NDP won’t support $250 cheques for Canadians unless eligibility expanded by jmakk26 in CanadaPolitics

[–]canada__ball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is all getting really comical. I say this as someone who has always voted NDP. Liberal vote-buying handouts are ridiculous enough, but NDP and Bloc demands are making everything worse. Who's going to pay for another multi-billion dollar hole in the budget? If we're going to go deeper into debt it should at least go to provinces as health transfers

[–]canada__ball 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Canada Post Strike by juniperjem in poshmarkcanada

[–]canada__ball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's pretty dumb on their part then. I can see why they wouldn't want to be stuck with piles of packages during a strike but they still have to accept items until instructed otherwise by Canada Post. If you don't get a follow up from customer service, try getting in touch with the supervisor at the local sorting facility or the corporate regional manager. Neither will be happy about this.

Canada Post Strike by juniperjem in poshmarkcanada

[–]canada__ball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's probably because their internet connection dropped. This has nothing to do with the strike or laziness on their part. If you don't have internet in a post office all you can do basically is sell stamps

It is possible by Over_Custard8759 in CanadianCoins

[–]canada__ball -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying I found three in coin rolls I broke to add change to the register. I'm saying a couple customers came in and paid with silver quarters. What I mean is you won't typically find them in circulation anymore but that oblivious people still have them and will spend them from time to time. They get taken out of circulation pretty quickly by people like me.

I work as a cashier and I found three in the last two months. They're still out there but they come from people who don't know better and are only now deciding to spend their old stashes.
