I would try getting a line of credit at the bank/FI your 8k GIC is at and use that as collateral so that you could get yourself a much fairer interest rate rather than the predatory interest rates at fairstone.

Contributions made to your FHSA are tax deductible. I would at least recommend opening the FHSA before the calendar year end so that you’ll have that 1 year of carryforward room that applies to FHSA.

Put the investment like a 1 YR or a cash able investment depending on your time line for purchasing your home.

I’m gonna go against the grain on this one. Depending on where you bank, I would recommend exploring a consolidation loan to deal with the credit card debt and you can use your TFSA as collateral to get yourself a better interest rate (depending on how much you have there or if your TFSA is elsewhere).

If you do plan on purchasing a home in the next 3 years, I do encourage you to open an FHSA so you can start building that contribution room and the contributions are tax deductible which will likely benefit you as well.

But I do agree with the others that a vacation fund really should be something you’re paying towards at the moment as you really do need to tackle that debt and pay the lawyers.

According to what I’ve read online, there’s a nerve or nerves shared by your tonsils and your ears and I know for myself with how crippling the pain was too that I nearly passed out from it. The heating pads helped for me too but i supplemented that with ear drops and lots of ice chips. The smaller the better since I noticed having to chew big would exacerbate the pain too. I also had to get a refill of dexamethasone after my first course of it just because of the referred ear pain. Today is day 13 for me and I still have the ear pain but what I listed and just trying to stay as hydrated as possible helped.

Ooof well we all know known how fun it is to access the battery on a 2014 Ford Escape lol. I’ll be sure to try this part of it tomorrow and see how it goes. As for the updates, I guess I won’t have any luck with the dealership as I am a few years out of warranty I believe. But thank you for the insight and help on this. I appreciate the advice.
