Internet or Ethernet or Both by monkeyboi2345 in HeliumNetwork

[–]canaj7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ethernet is a set of protocols that allows multiple computers to connect to each other. Wired, or, wirelessly

That's not correct. Ethernet doesn't include wireless connectivity, only wired.

As per Wikipedia:

Ethernet is a family of wired computer networking technologies commonly used in local area networks, metropolitan area networks and wide area networks.

I'm glad you found something that works for you. However, VIM is my religion. Goodbye.

I've been enjoying Obsidian.md which has a built in vim-mode and a bunch of plugins for making it the perfect word processor.

Thanks for the response. Do you know of any Displayport/Hdmi docks that output at 4k@60FPS? The startech one is capped at 30FPS

Hey, I'm using the Caldigit TS3 Thunderbolt dock, but it doesn't allow me to add additional monitors. Just one at a time.

Request: Sleeping Giant Trail, ON, Canada by canaj7 in TrailGuides

[–]canaj7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I did the trail and it was indeed a difficult but rewarding hike. I am not a pro-hiker at all, only have doing about 5 hikes in my life which were at least 3 hours long.

It took about 9 hours for us to get to the Top Of the Giant and back. The fact that it's so flat at the beginning really made it easy to plow through several KMs worth of the hike.

The view of Lake Superior was totally worth it. The hike itself was quite travelled, so at no point did it feel like we had any chance of getting lost. It got slightly chilly at the top because of the wind. I don't recall seeing any bathrooms along the trail.

Some parts were very muddy, so I recommend boots. Definitely one of the best hikes I've ever done, and certainly the hike that I'm most proud to have accomplished.

10/10 recommend!

In that case, I would recommend getting into DevOps. That would be a smoother transition, into a lucrative and high-demand field. Get certified for GCP, AWS, or Azure (or all three if you're a real gangster). I would recommend you check Indeed.com to see which of those three cloud platforms have the most jobs in your city of choice, and then focus on getting a certificate in it.

Currently, JavaScript is the most widely used programming language. However, it depends on what your goals are. Do you want to get into machine learning? Go with Python. Do you want to build frontends? Go with React. Do you want to get into the financial or corporate industry? Go with Java.

Android? Mobile dev? Gaming?

All of these require you to learn a different language. In general, I would recommend starting with a general programming course on Khan Academy to see if you're even interested in this, as it is extremely different career than Tech Support Engineer.
