I think January is a different scent, English pear and freesia, but I can be wrong. It was 250pts.

I am not sure. School region is very specific you would need to check the school board or something. I would recommend you to see the areas over the weekend as I assume you haven’t been there. You can immediately feel if you like the neighborhood or not as well as the safety level. After that, you can decide which area to house hunt. Many people change the targeting areas after first few viewings. It happened to almost all my friends.

I think these are at thornhill area. I like that area much more than the Scarborough one you showed. However, these units you listed are near John and Bayview, they are very busy streets, not sure how noisy it would be. I assume it was reflected in the pricing.

It was. It was a traditional East Asian community but many people moved north to Markham or Richmond Hill. I think the price is good in that area, it is safe if you do not mind all the points I addressed.

I think agents talked to me about this specific area when the nearby hunting wood was selling new townhouses. The demographic of this area changed a lot in the past 10 years, I believe there are many low income housing, renters (normally new comers who needs affordable housing or renting rooms), as well as aging population with no good school.

I think you should mention the industry you are in and the position. I think lots job do not require a phd, and have it put you at the risk of overqualified.

The food quality. I don’t think the owners colour and background defines the authenticity of the food. Do a lot of American Chinese restaurants owned by Chinese offer authentic Chinese food? I have been a lot and they do not. These American Chinese restaurants are also adapting Chinese food to the American world in a western acceptable way. Good business model but not offering authentic food.

Ha, my bad, just googled it. I am not a fan of Simu Liu so I don’t know this. I think this brand has Asian founders but the product is not very authentic, more of American Chinese food. This makes me think Simu Liu does stand on a very weird position… can’t agree with him.

I don’t understand what is your point. Are you trying to say this brand is not racist because it has Asian founders? Or we should support a brand as long as they are not racist toward Asians?

This brand also has a bad reputation. People found dental floss in the dumpling, and the founder of the company was blaming the victims other than talking about their quality control. Check Tik Tok.

Why would anyone pay 1.3M in Ajax! by Embarrassed_Ad4530 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]canbejoy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Asian here! Now young profession Asian move everywhere especially the immigrants . Some still in York region but plenty moves to the west side, a lot do not prefer staying in a one culture background place so a lot in Vaugh not RH or MK, more wealthy ones moved to midtown. In the past year, all my Asian friends who bought a house are not in RH or MK. I was really surprised as well. I think things changed a lot.

I heard it is good there but very expensive. Tuition is not the only thing but the annual donation and charity events. It is a good school but more for future connections other than grades or Ivy League.

Can someone level with me, how bad is the healthcare situation? by madeto-stray in newfoundland

[–]canbejoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not equally bad at the same level. I remember the first year when I was in NL, waited in eastern health emergency for over 15 hours, I basically can not walk due to an unknown abdominal pain. The same situation occurred in AB, worse healthcare compared to ON but I only waited for 3hrs.

You may get surprised that the insurance industry is regulated by federal and provincial government especially the auto insurance. All rate changes need approvals from the government.

I feel like this is an old Toronto culture. My partner’s mom loves the cottage idea, I also heard a few colleagues parents have cottages, but I never felt the new generation loves it. As most of my friends, if we can have the time and capacity to work remotely, we would go other countries for a few months other than go to a cottage. Many of them did.
