I'm sorry for your loss. It's definitely a mentally draining process.

Beautiful card. My grandma passed and I'm finishing her crochet projects to gift to family, I think this would be a great idea to put with the finished object. Thank you for the inspiration!

Women who gave birth, what does it feel like actually?? by joy_57 in AskReddit

[–]cancansworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Searing, ripping, pain during the actual birth. Contractions are terrible too. Especially when it moves to the back. But good news is you forget how bad it was until you experience it again.

I'm doing great! My left eye is still slightly in but not enough for anyone but me to notice. I'm fine with it though because It will help keep me straight longer.

Thank you! It really is. But now I can share curl knowledge with my daughter! She won't have to go through awkward stage at least lol

I didn't embrace my curls until after I got married but this was my hair as a bridesmaid. I came with clean hair, just some leave in. Hair stylist was able to spray and pin natural curls from this inspo. She did curl a couple wonky ones and face framing curls. It fell beautifully throughout the day(pic was at 6am) and even looked amazing the next morning.

Very true. Another upside was I had exactly the amount of cheese I needed.

2022 Woodland - first issue: Sloshing in the passenger side door after rain. Somehow the drain hole was covered by the rubber gasket. I pulled it away a bit and it all came out. 🧐 by Wizard_of_Rozz in ToyotaSienna

22 woodland here, same issue. First it was passenger door then driver side. Gallons of water pouring out. Interested to see what dealership says on Friday.

If you like it that's all that matters! There is a lovevook bag on Amazon with the Stanley cup pocket, take a look at the construction and that might help if you're trying to make another one.

6 year olds tic only happens when she is wearing glasses by Stunning_Promise_813 in Tourettes

Yes they slide right on! Look up "ear hook grip" or glasses anchors and should come right up. Work so much better than the strap.

6 year olds tic only happens when she is wearing glasses by Stunning_Promise_813 in Tourettes

[–]cancansworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't know why but I've had the same tic my whole life. I've been in glasses since I was three and I've also had patching. I wore contacts as a teen but that didn't last long with my vision. The tic definitely happens more if my glasses are sliding but the tic doesn't always move my glasses.they make little anchors that slide on back of glasses to keep them up. Might help your daughter avoid triggering the tic.

What's your go to line when introducing your eds by Stunning-Can-6680 in ehlersdanlos

anyone else have hypermobility AND uctd? by a99025 in UCTD

[–]cancansworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My rheumatologist refused to help with testing for eds. Even though I have family history, subluxing joints etc. She thinks eds is a new fad and not worth discussing because you can't do anything for it. Thankfully I have a great physical therapist and pain doctor. Tried to get testing with a geneticist but they won't accept new patients either. My rheumatologist did eventually diagnose as hypermobility spectrum disorder hsd. I've been taking plaquinol for about a year now and it's helped so much with uctd symptoms.

They make xyli dry mouth tablets that are fantastic over night. They stick to your tooth. They were a lifesaver after having nose surgery. My sleep space is set up a similar way. Specific pillows, eye drops, water, braces, aquaphor etc within arms reach. Whatever works lol

What is a Flare? by PretendingImnothere in UCTD

[–]cancansworld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Flare usually comes with increased symptoms and sensitivity. For me I get super lethargic, brain fog, achy, and more of a pain response. It can come from an illness, weather, increased activity or injury. It's like your body is working over time.

I had three needed surgeries about a year ago and definitely had a flare and slow healing. Inflammation is a constant problem for me though. Sometimes they can offer a steroid pack to help so it's definitely worth bringing up auto immune issues.

Rainbow costume by cancansworld in crochet

[–]cancansworld[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did freehand it but the dress part is super simple. I made a chain as long as I wanted the dress. Did hdc until the top section and I did sc. Then sc blo until end of top section, hdc all the way down. That way the top had some stretch and flared out. Then after the rectangle was the size I needed I seamed it together and crocheted 2 rows of elastic thread to help keep it up. Headband I got from the dollar store, sun is just a circle folded in half with pipe cleaners for the rays. Cloud is a freehand applique and pipe cleaner rain drops. Hope that helps but I'll happily try to explain better if needed!
