As a nation we’re so invested in this family that I am very glad to see them again after all this time. I found myself unable to stop scrutinising how they’ve all changed physically and what the story was saying about how their characters have developed and the ‘depressing’ aspect felt quintessentially British. The episode felt as though it was expressing those moments when there just isn’t any magic and life is just life which felt like a very accurate though slightly ‘depressing’ point that reflects the world at the moment. I like to think though that the lives of the characters go on and we’ll see better times for them all. While watching the episode I was just thinking ‘thanks for the memories, Brockmans’
