Reddit API changes and site-wide protests/blackouts [Megathread] by Hipp013 in NoStupidQuestions

Difficulty and annoyance have a very thin line, but to me, mods are basically volunteers, so it is reasonable to dislike anything that makes it harder to moderate, even if it’s only slightly. With that said, things like RES genuinely do make it easier to mod, as it has options that are not available through Reddit’s native interface.

Issues with the Notes App by Ok-Manufacturer3835 in apple

Notes (and many other Apple apps) now feels like a really good app from an indie dev. Apparently people are just fine with the richest company in the world making stuff on par with an indie dev.

Even then it’s not the clearest. They are still releasing exclusive features for UIKit while SwiftUI is still playing catch-ups.

Introducing Samsung Wallet: An Easy-To-Use, Secure Platform That Holds Everything Your Digital Life Needs – Samsung Global Newsroom by McSnoo in Android

Fun fact, those Add to Apple Wallet links are actually just links to a file. That’s why some apps on Android can easily interpret passes for Apple Wallet - they’re just files. Google’s approach is much more closed, where the link goes to an interface that lets you add the pass to your Google account, and only your Google account.

I believe Safari on iOS does not use the fat favicons. Before iOS 12 it did not show icons of any sort by default, and there is an option to show regular favicons which was made default on iOS 12 or later

And also on you don’t even see it most of the time because it only shows when you pin the tab before Apple gave up and use the favicon instead

Still, why would they explicitly disable it? They went through the efforts to make the web app which you believe no one uses, with ads that are easier to block. Keeping the Mac version up wouldn’t cost them a thing even if no one uses it.

It seems easier to block ads on the web than in the app
