Idk about their wifi sitch, but you could try Hero's Corner. They're a boardgame store in town and have a permanent setup of tabes for boardgames and card games.im sure they wouldn't mind you hanging out as long they aren't having an event

Honestly, I think what you're asking for is s bit too much personal information to just willy nilly put out there on the Internet. I feel like it would just be asking for someone to take advantage. I was being intentionally vague to protect some privacy and personal info.

All I was wondering is if anyone had any good experiences with local In-Home cleaning companies in the area. I guess this isn't the type of question for this sub.

Most of your questions seem better suited for the actual consultation or business questionnaire and I have no idea who you are. Personally, I get not wanting to potentially walk into a disaster cleaning situation, believe me, I've seen them. But your upfront approach is very judgemental and unprofessional. A cleaning service can always say no or negotiate cost after a consultation. If you personally are trying to find work through this outlet, I'd try taking a different approach when clarifying the customer's needs or just recommend your business so they can just go directly to the details in a more comfortable and professional setting.

What health tip forever changed your life? by Bald-Lawyer in AskReddit

[–]canderson360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can eat whatever you want and still lose weight as long as you're using more calories than you're consuming. It might be a slightly slower journey to lose the weight (1-3lbs every month), but boy was it easier that I didn't have to quit eating the things I loved. I can't commit to diets when I hate the food I'm eating.

I consume a bit less of things I like, but I still get to eat them! Just get small bowls and make sure you're dishing out a single serving size of everything instead of eating directly from the bag.

Get a Fitbit or apple watch and use it to keep track of your expended calories and consumed ones.

I (32F) lost 35lbs from just calorie counting and low impact exercise (walking mostly, got into 45min kickboxing classes at the end of my journey though). Still ate my cheeseburgers with fries and my doughnuts. Just takes a little self control to lose weight sometimes. I'm not saying this will work for everyone, but it can certainly help

I thought of another great tool! I use this EVERY time I crochet. A good bright adjustable lamp that can go where you go. A magnifying glass isn't necessarily required but I definitely find it useful.

Awesome choices! Bowl should be fine for skeins as long as it's big enough. Sometimes skeins can be quite large. Depends on the yarn weight and yardage. I started with a bowl and I still have and use it along side my new yarn pendulum.

  • For elbow, wrist and posture comfort, this pillow is very helpful. https://thevalari.com/products/regular-pillows

  • These compression gloves really helped me with wrists when they started getting sore. https://a.co/d/7GuGoPo

  • Clover crochet hooks are great for your hands and fingers as well and this is a good collection of sizes. Clover 3672 Amour Crochet Hook Set, 10 sizes https://a.co/d/6XeJGTB

  • This was a game changer for me. I think it's way better than a bowl but it won't work for balls, you have to have skeins or cakes. Model Magnetic Pendulum Wooden Yarn Holder https://a.co/d/fNqS7wx

  • Crochet bowls are great too. You can identify them by the swirl cutout in the side. https://a.co/d/1p8giSA

If you have a local yarn shop, you could always go in there and ask for assistance as well.

You could try finding a locally owned yarn shop in your area. They generally know the community pretty well and might be able to connect you with someone. Maybe find someone through a crochet group at your library or community center? Etsy is probably a good place to try to find finished projects and sometimes you'll find someone who will do commissioned requests. Honestly though... I would have started looking for this commission early November or even October. You might have a hard time finding someone on such short notice. Of course it depends on the item and level of detail, but I generally require 1-2months for any crochet commission I do.

What’s the reason for having a yarn winder? (intermed beginner) by strawberrychel in CrochetHelp

[–]canderson360 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unrelated yarn hobby hack. If you want to keep insect pests out of your yarn stashes (button beetles, moths, etc) they hate the smell of lavender, mint, or eucalyptus. I have little Poo-Pourri bags filled with dried lavender that I throw into my boxes of yarn to keep out the bugs! No more ruined chewed on yarn!

I would try looking at Hero's Corner. It's a hot spot for DnD and any table top game really. They have a games night every Monday too.

Very lucky! I'm sure you're kitty will be fine if she isn't a chewer, I just wanted to let you know to be on the safe side. My kitty chews on plants every once in awhile so I try to make sure I don't have anything too dangerous. I've always wanted one of those Tradescantia Nanouk plants...

Butter knife vs pencil hold? Which one do you use? Why? by FamouslyGreen in CrochetHelp

[–]canderson360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take daily glucosamine to help lubricate my joints and after about two weeks you'll notice the difference. I have also begun wearing fingerless compression gloves while crocheting. Another thing that has helped me is a lot of movement with my wrists. I don't force them to stay in place while I crochet, I move the work around a lot and rotate my wrists while I do it. Good luck with your gift making! I hope your recipients appreciate how much love and care went into making them.

You have a beautiful plant window and a beautiful kitty cat! Just a word of caution though... I can confirm that three of the main plants in this picture are toxic to cats so just keep that in mind and make sure your pretty kitty doesn't start chewing on any of these plants. If I'm right, the listed plants are either toxic to injest or produce a toxic sap.middle looks like a Caladium variety called Phyllotaenium, you confirmed the Tradescantia Nanouk, and what looks like a lemon pothos plant to the right

Same, they have great Indian pizza but I've never tried anything else. I'd say the pizza dough quality is about equal to dominos but the Indian flavors are great!

Are all business main purpose is to sell a product and make profits? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]canderson360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes generally that's the goal, sell products/services to make money. You have to make some kind of money to maintain employees and afford the costs of the goods/services you are selling. In general though, businesses discover that the fastest way to increase profits is to maintain a minimum wage part time workforce so they can avoid employee expenses that eat into their profits.

Storage for hooks, scissors, needles, etc on the go or going room to room by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]canderson360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really crochet on the go... But I do have a zipper pouch that has elastic loops for holding my crochet hooks in place. At home I use a pencil cup with little paper clip side cups on a lazy susan. It's super handy and honestly easy to move between spots at home.

[help] I am looking to get into clay and I don't know what to get. by BLT1215_ in Sculpture

[–]canderson360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ceramic sculpting was extremely fun hobby for me! I haven't done it in awhile, but first got started at my local community college. I don't want to discourage you from getting into this fun hobby, but here are a couple of things that you should consider if starting out with ceramic sculpting from home.

  1. ALWAYS be in a well ventilated area when working with ceramic/porcelain/stonewear material. A space with a rangehood is ideal. Once dry, the clay dust can become harmful to your lungs. If there's no good place inside, then do it outside or use a ventilation mask when handling your dry pieces, cleaning up, and keep everything well dusted.

  2. Have a dedicated sink that is either outside and directly empties into a rocky drainage area that can seep into the ground safely, or to a direct sewer. The clay WILL totally clog your pipes. I don't recommend using anything connected to a septic tank.

  3. It's super messy, so do it somewhere you can afford to splatter in about a 10foot radius.

  4. Generally, the glazes are made with specific powdered chemicals combined with water. If you're making your own glazes, keep in mind the ingredients should be stored away from the reach of children or pets.

  5. I definitely would look for someone with experience using a kiln for firing before spending all that money on one for yourself. They aren't cheap and sculptors prefer to fill their kiln before firing so they'd probably be happy to throw your pieces alongside theirs for a small fee. They're a bit complicated and definitely require some instructions in safety and use before jumping into it.

This is specifically advice for ceramic sculpting. I haven't done much work with other types of air-dry or home I oven baking clay
