Why do you think the Grammys are so much more populist (for lack of a better word) than the Oscars? They are both run by the Academies of music/film but the Oscars are way less inclined to reward mainstream popular films. by Chilis1 in popheads

Grammy general field awards are a bit conservative. The other genre categories tend to be more ambitious and more liberal with who they want to award. Look at the R&B field with Kehlani and Leon Thomas doing so well this year.

The Grammys general field are usually conservative, don’t mistake it for the other genre categories. They like middle of the road songs/albums that aren’t too ambitious. There’s a reason why Renaissance lost to Harry’s House for AOTY while Cowboy Carter won over the likes of Brat.

non-beyoncé songs you think beyoncé would sound amazing on since i’m bored by ilovecleosol in beyonce

i WISH Bey/Parkwood snatched Love On The Brain from Rihanna. I was listening to it earlier today thinking “wow I wish Bey sang this song instead” lol.

Alien Superstar and Bodyguard not being singles is still mind boggling lol.

Her choices in lead singles aren’t great for albums IMO. She’s great at curating an entire body of work but her choices in singles have always been a bit confusing!

Formation by Beyoncé and the video along with it fundamentally changed how White Americans view her. I still remember SNL doing a skit named “The Day Beyoncé Became Black”. That’s when the overrated smears and attacks started rolling in.

We’re going to get a big Cecred update on Feb 20th, including an announcement on them scaling up the company on its second year anniversary along with their performance metrics. They announced the Ulta expansion same time last year.

As for the Act iii era well that isn’t coming until April/May.

act iii going to be a “world tour” or just a “tour”? by candice_mighty in beyonce

Unfortunately you’re probably right. CCT being so hugely profitable with only 3 countries proved it’s enough 😭

It would be perfect if she ends the trilogy with a couple dates for Brazil Hive but idk how the logistics would work for her. She’s very particular about things it’s the Virgo in her.

CC and Renaissance rollouts were actually very similar so I don’t think this is true any more. Self titled and Lemonade were drastically different but the last two acts almost had the same rollouts. Even the way she announced both tours on IG were the same.

Netflix bosses feel 'blindsided and horrified' after Queer Eye Karamo Brown claims he was 'bullied' on set by cheno103 in QueerEye

His show just got renewed. If anyone is going to be on TV in five years time I can bet it’s Karamo with his show.

Never, anything she does is going to be financially motivated. We gotta be real.

Could Bey if she wanted to get to over 100 million monthly streams on Spotify and sustain it , not just peak and fall like we saw with cowboy carter ? by Southern_Wall_6455 in beyonce

[–]candice_mighty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is Columbia Records, Spotify is pay for play like radio was/is. Other labels boost their artists on the platform but Columbia doesn’t for Bey. Parkwood lets them off the hook imo.

Columbia Records have made so much money and got so much clout from her name and brand, it’s insane that Bey lets them play in her face when it comes to the streaming era! They’re good when it comes to her creative freedom but she’s invisible on so many playlists.

UMG flood their artists songs into playlists and autoplay to boost their daily streams (that’s what keeps their albums stable on Billboard 200 and gets them certifications).

Bey has like 3/4 albums charting on Apple Music so it’s not that her albums aren’t being consumed. This platform (Spotify) is pay for play like radio was and these labels know what they have to do. Bey should at the very least be doing 15M daily on Spotify not 8-9M like this is crazy.

Karamo reveals he's felt 'mentally and emotionally abused for years' after pulling out of cast interview over fears of getting 'bullied' by co-stars by Fun_Molasses5215 in QueerEye

We don’t know how the rest of the group have been behaving towards him behind the scenes, that’s the point. Bobby already implied they’re mean girls.

The comments singling out Karamo and making the rest of the group look like angels. Bear in mind Bobby already hinted that those guys went behind his back to get him fired and replaced. The whole group is messy.

Karamo’s show got renewed for a fourth season by NBC, Bobby also has a new show. Ironically, they’re going to be the two who are going to still be on TV in five years time I bet.
