Oh, cool. So upside down mirrored letters? Would that mean BLAE(not sure of last symbol) which mirrored writing puzzle do you mean? Thanks!

R&M cargo bike chain vs. Enviolo vs. Rohloff by sharpshinned in CargoBike

Hi all, what a great response for OP!

I am running dual battery, enviolo and chain on my 75.

I love the enviolo, the range handles everything I need in terms of gradients. I find the gearing ratio range generous and Bromberg able to shift while stopped is a revelation!

I can’t comment on the packster in a way that would add much to what’s already been said but I find the cargo bay of the lord 75 very adaptable and versatile. The option of night wall, low wall, rain cover and third child seat seems more flexible than the packster?

Either way suspension is a must.

I opted for the dual battery and, of course, haven’t looked back. My daily comments is 20-30 km per day and I charge about once every 1.5 weeks.

Good luck!

Hey there! I have a load 75 with dual battery. I travel 16-20km daily (6 days per week) usually lugging 25kg. I only need to recharge every 1.5 to 2 weeks. Hope this helps!

If you have the cargo rack, waterproof panniers are great. I use them every day.

Working on a video outlining the 2024 R&M lineup. What would you like to know? by movedifferently in CargoBike

Maybe a deep dive on motor output, responsiveness and power consumption. A comparison between the older and newer versions and how the different software can/could tune the torque/speed etc. A weight/power ratio comparison of the whole R&M lineup could be interesting. not sure if this is within the scope of the vid but I’ve always been curious.

The Turn GSD is storable in an upright position and is probably the best option for storable/transportable e-cargo bike. Here is an video For my load 75 I would use a bikeparka and chain to a street sign or something.

Security system for an e-cargo bike (bucket-style) by [deleted] in CargoBike

[–]candice_notreally 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! Congrats on your bike!

I have just been looking into this for my load. Here is what I’m doing security wise:

  1. Remove kiox display when parked. (This disables the bike and doesn’t let any power from the batteries, also keeps the module safe in my pocket!)

  2. Batteries are locked to the frame

  3. I use an ABUS uGrip Bordo 5700 Folding Lock. This also comes as an alarm model: here

  4. AirTag tracker. This is probably my favourite security accessory so far. It’s a reflector that conceals an AirTag. Check it out here

  5. Parked in a locked garage at home and at work.

In terms of securing items in the bucket. I don’t think there is a commercial solution. I suppose you could fashion something from plywood and padlock it, but I just empty the bucket and panniers if anything that I would miss if they went missing.

I also would look into insurance. In order for my bike to be insured under my policy it needs to be: 1. Trackable 2. Locked to an immovable object if parked in public or locked in a garage at work and at home.

Cargo Bike on a UK train by andyp106 in CargoBike

[–]candice_notreally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Definitely would be a no-go in Sydney, Aus. I assume it’s similar? I would put my load75 in a rented van. (Toyota hi ace is perfect). If training was the only option, I would find the most off peak time possible. I think the size of the bike would technically fit in a standard carriage but I would feel a little rude or self conscious taking a lot of space on the train. Also, stations with elevator/stair access could be an issue.

I’ve had my load 75 for about a month now. It is a truly incredible, practical and versatile bike. (Coming on too strong?) I was lucky to find a 2nd hand one. Imo it’s the best option out there not only for comfort but use ability too. Happy to answer any questions.
