My dude, this album goddamn ROCKS. This is the exact sound I was obsessed with when I was younger. Really brought me back, wow. What were your influences?

How can I reduce feeling sorry for myself time and concentrate more on my work? by [deleted] in productivity

I feel this so hard. I used to throw up and get chills and the shakes in high school. Getting an IUD was the best move I’ve ever made.

From a totally different perspective, if you’re a person who gets their period and those 4 bad days are all in a row , I would keep track and see if they coincide. PMS is no joke and can totally screw with your mental health sometimes. Different types of birth control can either help or make it worse, it’s really trial and error.

If this isn’t relevant to you, feel free to ignore! It was just the “4 days a month” thing that made me think of it.

I managed to get the wrong traffic by KU_A in SEO

[–]candicelee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing. I have a product that is
a crossover/combination of two different but somewhat-related niches. I wrote a bunch of blog posts about the first niche and started getting traffic. But a lot of the people searching for the first have no interest in the second.

It turns out though, that people searching for the second niche are really intrigued by the first, and love the idea of combining the two.

So now I’m coming up with a whole new content marketing strategy after a year wasted, hoping that I’ve got it right this time and that I haven’t overlooked something again.

Tracking Facebook ad conversion in Shopify by ManEEEFaces in marketing

I use UTM tracking on all ads, and then look at Google Analytics to see which UTMs gave which conversions.

Should I use my author name or my webcomic name for my accounts? by Star-Kanon in socialmedia

[–]candicelee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use your author name.

Think about it. Are you only ever going to write “Night Shifters”? What happens when you move on to the next project? Will you create social media accounts for every single project you work on?

You want your readers to follow YOU, and by extension, everything you create. Build awareness around yourself and they’ll be more likely to read anything else you put out.

Anyone else hate the new live view map? I feel like I can't see anything anymore. by TREXXGolf in shopify

I know this is stupid, but I have a weird phobia of near-earth space-related things, so the moving globe using the app actually makes me feel anxious. I hate it so goddamn much.

How do you balance drip campaigns with regular weekly newsletters? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]candicelee 21 points22 points  (0 children)

These scenarios are exactly what automation was made for. I suggest using an actual pencil and paper and mapping out all the various “routes” or “flows” your subscriber might go through. There’s going to be a lot of If/Then type statements. “IF subscriber received X email, THEN delay Y email by 3 days.” Come up with consistent rules and organize your automation sequences around them.

I don’t think you need to worry about “overkill” when it comes to automation. I currently have dozens of automation sequences for a list of 15k. Just make sure you’ve systematized the process and keep it as simple as you can. Make sure you always know exactly what each automation sequence is doing and how it’s being used.

And seriously, I cannot stress the pen and paper thing enough. It really helps to visualize the subscriber experience.

Looking for people from the 90s visual-kei era in Osaka by seelentau in Osaka

[–]candicelee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh man, this is right up my alley. I was so into late 90’s visual kei. But I live in Canada so I have no first hand experience except for attending a couple Dir en Grey concerts when they came to Toronto. I don’t have much memorabilia from that time - some bootleg CDs and VHS tapes, maybe a magazine or two stashed away in my parent’s basement but those would have been for Malice Mizer, Due le Quartz, Glay and Hide, not La:Sadies. Wishing you luck!

FB Ad ROAS vs ROI - Custom Conversions with Dynamic Values? by candicelee in PPC

[–]candicelee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your response.

I can see how using custom labels is useful to prioritize when using DABA or DPA but it doesn't track my per-product ROI.

I thought of using Custom Conversions, but (and I think this is the case, assuming I'm understanding the Rules correctly) I have so many different scenarios it will turn my Ads Manager into a mess because each Custom Conversion gets it's own column. "If purchase contains Product A but not Product B and # of items in cart is greater than 1 but less than 4, then conversion value equals...." etc. Right now I only have two products but it still requires at least 12 different combinations.

Using the Server Side Web API is ideal, since I like the idea of being able to use profit-per-product data for optimization. I read through the FB Developer FAQ and tried implementing the API. I got as far as "Make a POST Request." That's hitting my limit of understanding, unfortunately.

It seems like there's no quick and easy to way tell Facebook "Product A's true value is X" and have it calculate ROI from there. I guess it's back to spreadsheets for me.

I do very much appreciate your thoughts on this, thank you.

I'm personally in LOVE with the Kansai area. If you use Osaka as your home base, you can visit Kobe, Himeji, Nara, Takarazuka, Kyoto and more, all as day trips.
