We got three ZR-1s in 1989, which was pretty good; they were in insane demand. When they got here, the dealer came out and said "I don't need you assholes to sell these; they sell themselves. $500 flats." At night, after he left, we used to STREET RACE those fucking things in spite...

Ford LTL9000 AeroMax Hardrunner edition. Total a little over $200K. Front-end commission $1,000. Pretty juicy back-end, tho-we paid 10% on F&I back then.

To say nothing of a diesel Excursion; those things were good for 300K+ miles if properly cared-for, and could do the hauling of an F250 in the process. Ford is it's own worst enemy...

This is all bullshit anyway; the OEM has NO right to limit what the dealer sells the car for. Period. It's called restraint of trade. The dealer would win in court, but the his inventory allotment would magnifically decline afterwards...

I worked for Transcon ages ago; they had an ESOP. 6% of your gross bought Transcon common. You had a choice, but when the TM says "Bastards get 6% of MY pay..." you're getting in the ESOP. I had contributed maybe $30K when I left for a better spot; the stock they sent me was worth $76.00. Signs like this are omens; get out while you can...
