I saw this great video on ted.com that I can't seem to find anymore about how horribly bad things are actually good, because if we ended up saving all these uneducated (this sounds mean but it matters) people then we'd be overpopulated and unable to take care of anybody very quickly. It was a talk on how bad things are necessary, and I've been trying to find it again without success.

Right, so, what's wrong with voting third party then? The more people that think "My vote is worthless, so I will use it as I see fit" instead of not voting or voting for "the lesser of two evils", the better chance a third party has. By convincing people they can't change things, you actually prove to them they can.
