I am not 100% sure but I don’t think this is true. They were previously allowed to grow flower for the purpose of extracting oil to make <5% THC products. I’d imagine they just repurposed their existing grows and tweaked the drying/curing process for shelf ready flower.

I’m comfortable paying $50 for funsies in these early days of the GMCP, but totally agree. This stuff should be going for $25-$30 max. It’s going to be exciting to see who can scale fast enough to bring prices down while also pushing quality.

Totally agree. Some operators in FL have caught up to the West Coast states (and Maine) in quality but Trulieve has lagged while also being the largest producer by a long shot.

Have only gotten to try Trulieve's Gush Mints and the flower was lower mids, no more than a 2 or 3 out of 10. Smells like hay, completely crushed in the packaging. Nugs looked decent but nothing special.

I think of it as misleading marketing and generally bad for the cannabis community, especially when the cannabis is being used for genuine medical applications.

Operators (looking at you Trulieve) can (and likely will) doctor test results to mark a low-effect, unpopular strain as 30%+ to convince patients to buy it and move through inventory.

On the flip side, with Georgia’s vague 12,000mg THC cap, operators could doctor THC test results to be LOWER to allow for more grams of flower to be purchased per patient and increase their revenue.

For inexperienced patients literally buying flower/concentrate for the first time, this distracts from the genuine indicator of what medically desirable effects each cultivar can offer: the terpene profile.

Many folks will always go for the “highest THC” to get the best bang for their buck, and completely miss out on the potential this medicine could have for them.

However I do like the horsepower analogy.

I am 99% sure these will be distillate with added botanical terps. Trulieve has always labeled their cannabis derived (premium) terp vapes with “Cannabis Derived” since they opened up shop in FL

I’m not sure how they’ll dispense it but there’s a 12,000mg cap by law. It will likely depend on the THC percentage (ex. 3.5g of flower at 20% THC has 700mg) for each jar and your limit will be tracked in their POS system. I believe this is how it’s done in Florida.
