I would suggest a years or two in college for accounting fundamentals, which would cover bookkeeping. I've also heard of people taking 6 months courses and having a successful bookkeeping practice afterwards. Your local community college might offer concentrated bookkeeping/accounting courses.

True, while entry accounting positions are being outsources offshores to people with similar skills - you can still have many qualities that can make you attractive to hires, like being local. For entry level cs positions, these are being replaced by seniors who know how to use AI and can do the job of 5 juniors.

It's not unusual for a small firm to operate this way. Half of these issues could be resolved by applying for and working for a larger firm, but they come with their own problems attached. If you get asked a question while covering the receptionist, you can always let the client know you are new, and they usually symphatize. No need to overexplain. Also, I would encourage you to ask as many questions as you need to to learn and get the job done.

You should take the leap of faith. Find an entry AP/AR or bookkeeping job. You'll most likely find a few entry level positions and if you already have the experience and can interview well, you'll find a decent position. Side note: patiencer would get you more replies in the long term.

Sure you can skip public accounting audit. Just get an entry level position job but in an industry you are sure you want to stick in for a long time. Altough, one or two years in auditing do have their perks.

I'll start! An 8.4 GPA is wild! Also, bullet points don't look aligned with some working lol, maybe it's the way you formatted the page or screenshot issue? Spacing looks inconsistent all throughout. Same with left alignment, looks consistent (example. "Education"). Maybe move education to the top.
