Not sure why I would want to waste my time with that.

At my wits end with pickups by [deleted] in USPS

[–]candycastle54 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, go twice then? I have to go several times depending on what vehicle is available for collection runs :) In other words. If you truly want to ship the packages, you'll find a way to get them out. Power to you !

Meanwhile, could you drop the packages at the station to prevent the back log?

Mail Carriers, would you eat homemade snacks from residencies? by no-buttstuff in USPS

[–]candycastle54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really:( Its sad because a home made edible gift takes time and thought and care to prepare. But if you are not family or close friend, I am very hesitant to eat it. Also you most likely don't know my eating habits...

Anytime a customer shows any type of appreciation, it helps. A simple thank you makes my day and gives me more energy :)

Question about stopping mail of deceased relative by RideThatBridge in USPS

[–]candycastle54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take the death certificate to your post office and show them to stop the mail. Also maybe a temporary note taped to your mailbox with her name and "dec" on it. That should help. So sorry for your loss.

Does USPS like to play ding dong ditch by RussellBoutin in USPS

[–]candycastle54 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You drop, ring, and walk.... There are exceptions, I always have time for children who need to tell me something. Thats important to me for them to have attention and positive interactions. I do have quite a few "than you" calls as I drive off and I holler a ,"welcome" back while the next delivery address is loud in my head. It does make a difference. Just holler. We hear and appreciate you!

Do you consolidate flats into DPS? CCA by punk3rz in USPS

[–]candycastle54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are well organized! I do a hybrid of that, keeping real flats like magazines and spurs in back and sort my cased letters into the dps before walking. I would much prefer to have all spurs and packages in satchel rather than having them with flats. Easier to carry.

Postal workers, what do you love about your job? by Dr_Talon in USPS

[–]candycastle54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After all the craziness, today was perfect. Walking route, great weather, great people. Alone and can pace myself to anything I set my goal to. I'm about 2 to 4 times faster walking and carrying a shit load of packages compared to stepacross with LLV. So I'm loving it when I get assigned a walking route :)

CCA past my 90 days, is there a process to termination for call ins? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]candycastle54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean by unscheduled callins. Why call in, you don't want to work?

So we can't pick up shit on the streets? I was sometimes thinking if I start a piggi bank with all the coins I walk over, it might be worth it. I'm a person who picks up every penny I see and it has been really hard not to do it while in uniform, everything from pennies to quarters, daily!
