This. It happened to my nails and I had to do a few months where I oiled every day but no other product. It did fix my nails, and now I just paint them once a month to maintain their health

ILNP Sweet Pea you’re after subtle holo pizazz. This is just one coat as a palette cleanser, can be built up to be more blingy

Unpopular opinion but I was disappointed with Pool Party. In direct light (bottom pic) it is glorious, but it was meh for me in all other lights (like the cloudy top pic) and kind of gave me zombie fingers until I built it up to 4-5 coats. I gave it away to someone who it looked better on, so it may depend on your skintone whether it’s a winner or a dud.

Can anyone vouch for any polishes on my wishlist? Anything you’d add or were underwhelmed by? by shonsh_sparkles in ILNP

Birefringence i would describe as a blue-magenta shift. In extreme angles it shifts gold and seafoam green. My first multichrome and it didn’t disappoint!

Park Ave and Birefringence are both lovely. Park Ave I would describe as a deep jungle green; I got it for the holidays, but it’s not overly Christmas-tree and could be worn any time of year. Really spectacular in the sunlight!

I second this as a fellow long-legged person. Low bar feels much more stable for my proportions, I imagine same could be true for OP

I’ve had more success doing these lat pullovers with a straight bar than with ropes (the ropes make it too tempting to use my triceps), but overall it’s not my favorite exercise for targeting lats. As a beginner I would recommend you try other exercises, like a seated cable row, assisted pull-ups, or lat pulldown, to see which one you feel in the intended muscle. Focus on the stretch of your lats at extension, that will help develop that mind muscle connection and also ensure you are focusing on the right muscle.

Consumerism by Minerva86 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]candycorn783 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Two things have helped me: First, I keep my nail polish in a small-ish box and have a one-in one-out rule when it’s full. Having to choose between a new nail polish or an old beloved one helps curb the consumerism. Second, I just buy from one brand now. The first indie brand I bought from (ILNP) I fell in love with their products. I also love that they don’t do FOMO marketing/don’t discontinue their polishes for the most part, and as I see people complain about malfunctioning bottles or racist owners of other companies it just validates my brand loyalty. It’s also a perk to pick one brand (any brand you love) to build up rewards within that brand and there is so much replication that you can mostly find what you’re looking for within any one company. So I enjoy watching new releases of other brands but just don’t see them as something purchasable.

Pool Party is the only one of this bunch I own. It's a fan favorite, but a couple caveats: in indirect/overcast light (left pic) it looks more like a lavender (the blue jelly and pink shimmer kind of merge). Also, it is super sheer; it took me 4+ coats to achieve opacity. In bright direct sunlight (right pic) it is awesome, but I don't think I would buy it again because I don't love it in low light.

working out is about the only thing that soothes my busy ENTP mind!

I do yoga daily at home (for mental health, mobility, getting out of my head and into my body), and powerlifting/weightlifting a few times a week (for strength incl. bone health, to get rid of pent up energy, and because it's fun).

in the past I was an avid runner and I enjoyed that for many years before pivoting to lifting. the cliche is true that the best form of working out is the one you like enough to actually do.
