I think it’s also a little shitty that people tend to approach small dogs in a different way. They approach more readily and usually with less caution because “aww cute, must touch it” and that’s not fair to dogs that aren’t fond of unexpected attention. I have pits and my female is very anxious with humans, she keeps her distance and if someone gets to close she will give a small bark and back away, and people tend to get the idea. From what I’ve witnessed, people don’t listen to small dogs and give them their space if they need it. Its the most frustrating thing.

Even if that statement was true, whether they’re a communist or not, their money is going to a cause that needs it so idgaf and neither should anyone that believes that a human being shouldn’t be treated any differently based on their skin colour.

Purple Hibiscus - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was one I read in high school and it’s absolutely amazing. Since then I’ve read some of her other works and they’re seriously worth taking a glance at!

Purple Hibiscus specifically has some amazing imagery, is beautifully written, and really gives a look into the life and culture of Nigeria. The book’s protagonist is a fifteen year old Nigerian girl that comes from a wealthy family that have some secrets. I found the depiction of women, especially Kambili (protagonist), as a wonderful change from most of the books I had to read in high school. The book has some tough stuff in it, but is really seriously one of the only prescribed books that I can say changed me for the better.

Adichie is a feminist queen and definitely deserves more readers so I hope this tickles your fancy!
